SKU: LCT140AIR
While emulating classic microphones may appeal to some brands and consumers, Lewitt strive to innovate and create the most versatile and best value-for-money mics available on the market. The LCT 140 AIR epitomises their approach; an affordable small diaphragm condenser microphone suited for capturing a number of different instruments and featuring two switchable sound characteristics.
The Lewitt LCT 140 AIR's incredible price-point makes it ideal for hobbyists that are keen to record at home. However, even professionals can admire its rugged build, impressive sound quality and thoughtful features. For example, its housing is constructed from aluminium, making it not just strong but also very lightweight and ergonomic. Its small diaphragm condenser capsule has also been precisely designed, ensuring a well-rounded character with plenty of top-end presence.
However, it's the LCT 140 AIR's sound-shaping switches that set it apart from the competition. With 'AIR' and 'FLAT' modes, you can switch between an open-sounding character that gives your recordings a boost of treble, or a more linear frequency response that captures the source "as-it-is". The Lewitt LCT 140 AIR's low-cut filter is also worthy of note, letting you eliminate any unnecessary rumble for a cleaner recording.
This exceptional microphone comes with a bag, clip and also a windscreen if you intend to use it outdoors for live performances. The Lewitt LCT 140 AIR is therefore suitable for many musical applications.
Here's what Lewitt says about the LCT 140 AIR:
Designed for professional instrument recordings
The LCT 140 AIR features a small diaphragm condenser capsule we've designed for professional instrument recording. Use the AIR and FLAT sound characteristics to record the source the way you want. Pre-attenuation pad and low-cut filter complete the package.
With its superior transient response, the LCT 140 AIR provides high clarity for your recordings of guitar, drums, strings or other acoustic instruments. Its aluminum housing is robust and lightweight at the same time. The LCT 140 AIR has a cardioid characteristic and just sounds fantastic.
AIR and FLAT explained
AIR delivers an open, sparkling character. A great choice if you need record ready sound right from the start. You can immediately use and share those recordings without spending any time on post-production.
FLAT provides a linear frequency response for “as-it-is” reproduction of drums, strings, acoustic guitars, and choirs. It's a great choice if you aim for highly realistic sonic images.
Having both options at hand makes the LCT 140 AIR a highly versatile recording tool.
Durable yet lightweight
The LCT 140 AIR is very durable yet lightweight thanks to its CNC'ed aluminum housing. Positioning and setup become easy tasks.
Low-cut filter and pre-attenuation pad keep your recordings clean
The low-cut filter minimizes structure-borne noise and low-frequency rumble. Use the pre-attenuation pad, if you want to record high SPL instruments.
