I bought this so that my 10 year son could play it. The short scale makes is much easier for people with small hands. I find it good to play too (with my average sized Dad hands).

I hesitated about buying the GSRM20. Is it really a kid's bass? Would the strings be floppy? Would the bridge pickup buzz like a hornets' nest. Would I have sharp frets, poor intonation etc? I've played the bass for a total of 5-6 hours and everything falls naturally to hand. The neck does not feel absurdly short, nor do the strings feel like spaghetti. The pots are smooth though the range of volume and tone is limited (it's a sub-£200 bass I remind myself). The setup was great (for me) and the bass arrived almost perfectly in tune. No sharp frets and no noisy J pickup. I'm delighted - I think it looks great and it makes me go for lines I have never tried on my 35-year-old Aria. I'm genuinely delighted - I should have bought it a year ago.

This is a real value for money short scale bass. I just use it for recording demos as I'm not really a bass player, but I'm very impressed by the sound. I also find it much easier to get around than a normal bass guitar. Recommended.
