I was after an octave pedal and tried a few. TC electronic Nether (too dark sounfing), zoom B1four (too processed sounding), KMA machines queequeg 2 (too synthy, only one tone), Boss SYB-5 (terrible tracking) EHO bass synth (awful tracking), and heard good things about the Behringer octave divider. It looks amazing, like a control panel off a 70's space ship. The tracking is reliable down to an open E string on my P bass, and there is a tone knob to adjust the sound. The ringer switch is a useful feature. Add a dod 250 after this and it sounds filthy! Bass only switch gives the OC2 dubby dark tone but with good tracking. Honestly a pretty cool pedal

i bought this as a present for a bass-player. it's a clone of a 70's pedal i've seen all over funk-rock footage from the '70's. it's unstable, so i knew he'd never buy it! i plugged it in to my guitar just to check it works and couldn't believe what happened. it adds a really meaty note one octave down. you can mix the wet and dry signals so you get that gtr and bass playing together vibe. BUT then, if you press the 'bass only' switch you get just the bass - your guitar turns into a stunning 6-string bass! BUT then, if you hit the ring switch you get a ring mod on top of everything else - and it's outta control! you can try and tame it a bit with the tone pot but who'd be mad enough to do that? there's a stabilize switch too - but the whole thing about this pedal is it's beautifully unstable! yet punchy for anything groove-based - fusion, funk, desert, doom, disco - anything with grooves will love this pedal.

Ok, so 3 stars is probably my fault! As despite reviews, I found that this pedal does not play well with my guitar. Think it would be much better with a bass. I didn't like the low octave. But when this is dialled out, the pedal looses all character completely. This is only my experience with my particular setup. Bedroom levels of volume. I may well keep till I one day I get a bass, as the effect it's self is great!
