    Product Description

The Dingwall NG-3 is the signature instrument of Adam “Nolly” Getgood, the powerhouse bassist for progressive metal heavyweights, Periphery. The bass is inspired by the Combustion model; however, it has been given its own unique look and feel tan meet the demands of any modern bass player, with its range of cutting-edge features. An alder body with a maple neck and fretboard, plus a custom made Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp makes it an impressive new addition to the Dingwall family. This version includes 3 pickups, 4-strings and boasts a striking Metallic Gold finish with a matching headstock.

Dingwall are renowned for crafting instruments of the utmost quality, and the NG-3 is no exception. Taking conventional construction to the next level with a multi-scale design, this bass offers immense playability while projecting some of the most precise tones we've ever heard from a bass!

    Electronics & Hardware

Hand selected FD-3N pickups bring an aggressive, smooth tone to the table, as well as a much higher output. This is all down to the Neodymium magnets which were chosen to suit the exact specifications that Dingwall required, adding greater definition. The pickups are placed close to the bridge to further boost the instrument's upper mid-range response, for increased clarity when fighting against the sound of multiple guitars.

Featuring a master volume control, the NG-3 also boasts a 4-way rotary pickup selector that lets you use each pickup alone, or in conjunction with one another in series or parallel modes. With an active/passive switch that can let you achieve vintage and modern voicings, it is the Darkglass 3-band preamp that really sets this bass apart. Giving you control over the three main areas of the NG-3's EQ, you can tailor the sound of the bass to suit practically any style of music, not solely metal.

A set of lightweight open back tuner builds on the smooth feel, while granting years of precise tuning and hassle-free bass playing. They were specially chosen to make future upgrades and replacements amazingly straightforward, using the same hole specs as Hipshot and Gotoh tuners. The NG-3's highly-adjustable staggered bridge design also allows each string to vibrate more freely, for greater sustain and resonance.

    Assured Construction

A reassuringly warm tone with thick lows, powerful mids and dampened highs is the trademark sound of an alder body. It is the traditional wood usually utilised for the construction of an electric bass and the NG-3 is no exception. The remarkably low weight (8.75lbs) also reduces the likelihood of fatigue while playing, making it great for long shows and practice sessions! An added industry standard finish not only looks good, but is likely to last for many years, with a low amount of wear.

The implementation of a 5-piece maple neck has been proven to offer a very reliable and stable platform. Some Dingwall users even say it’s as good as their graphite necked instruments! Pairing incredibly light import tuners with a streamlined Afterburner headstock has resulted in further balance and improved performance.

Maple for the fretboard was intentionally chosen for its snappier top end; the overall attack of the note is noticeably increased when compared with some other woods. Playability has been enhanced further thanks to 18% hard nickel silver fret wire. Smaller frets mean more speed and a woodier, less metallic tone.

    Multi-Scale Design

Utilising fanned frets, these allow for super-accurate intonation across the entire fingerboard, with their slanted placement suiting the natural resting position of your hand. It may look odd at first, but you'd be surprised at how easy it is to adapt to this type of neck! The higher string tension on the lower strings gives the bass more punch and clarity where it matters most.
