    Product Description

The instantly recognisable Jazz bass has been updated for Fender’s Player series of guitars, taking the mantle over from the Mexican-made Standard range.

Its combines classic style with modern playability to make your life as comfortable as possible whether practising, recording or playing live.

    Modern comfort

The modern ‘C’-shaped Maple neck is a staple of Fender’s basses, offering that smooth playability we know and love. The difference this time round with the Player Jazz is its satin finish. There will always be the debate between gloss and satin necks and sometimes it does come down to preference, but rest assured the Jazz sports luxurious-feeling woods also used to build American-made models.

A 9.5” Maple fretboard is comfortable to explore, and the 20 medium jumbo frets are suitable for almost any playing type. Meanwhile, the alder body offers a nice balance between weightiness and deep growl that made this bass so well-renowned.

The four-saddle bridge and synthetic bone nut ensure you have accurate intonation and easy access to adjust the action in line with your playing preferences. Two volume knobs and one tone knob are also close-to-hand for crafting your perfect sound. The whole package is extremely reliable for working musicians who don’t want to pay almost twice as much for its USA cousin.

    Authentic Fender tone and looks

Guitarists after fat, rumbling bass tones will love the newly-designed alnico 5 single-coil pickups, both in the bridge and middle positions. These have a slight vintage tinge to the tone, with great versatility and nuance to be punching above its price range.

The Player Jazz’s body-shape, combined with the swirling three-ply pickguard, vintage headstock and blooming tuners make this bass a vintage classic. Trust Fender to produce sturdy instruments with high-quality hardware, capable of surviving wear and tear on the road for years to come.

Love this bass. I will swap the strings though. The tone adjustment seems to have a shorter range than I expected but Ive worked that through the Fender Rumble LT, so not a big deal. Plays really nice.

I’ve played a Warwick FNA Jazzman for years so going to this new Fender bass was like night and day! I’m absolutely in love with this bass and I regret not buying one sooner. Compared to the Warwick the weight is light and comfortable, the neck is very comfortable to play on and tone is easy to dial in and just go. I would point out, and this is just a personal opinion but I don’t feel like the construction was of a standard I would expect for a £600 instrument. The hardware and tuners cogs look cheap and I also noticed towards the bottom of the neck, the lacquer overspills on to the fret wire a bit too much which give the impression that this was constructed by a machine and conveyor belt process so for me, the love in the construction seems to be missing which I didn’t expect from Fender. I guess you have to buy the ‘professional’ series or custom shop to mitigate things like this. But apart from these little observations it is a lovely bass and so much fun to play. I would recommend fully!
