The Darkglass Vintage Deluxe Overdrive is everything you need for perfect 70's, 80's and 90's overdriven bass tones. With a powerful 4 band EQ circuit, standard, direct and parallel outputs on top of the attack and grunt switches you really have as much control as you will ever need to get amazing bass tones.
The Sound Of Valve
When you think of overdriven bass tones I can imaging that a large all valve bass head that weighs more than the rest of your rig combined and an 8x10" cabinet pushing through with enough power to fill a stadium. This is that tone but in a package that you can fit in your gigbag and completely forget it is there.
So Many Controls
While it may be easy to get overwhelmed at the sight of this many controls it is actually really easy to use. The Level, Drive and Blend all work as you would expect coming together to give you loads of options of how much drive you want and how much you want in the mix. The Grunt switch and Attack switch actually sit before the clipping stage and boost the low and high end respectively before it goes in to the drive acting like an active onboard preamp of sorts.
Here's what Darkglass say about the Vintage Deluxe Bass Overdrive Pedal.
The Vintage Deluxe features the warm, tube-like tones of the Microtubes Vintage and adds a 4-band active EQ, parallel output and balanced line driver. It delivers the natural dynamic response and organic compression of classic tube amps and tape machines, fitting four decades of legendary tones into a package that will fit in your gig bag.
Sets the volume of the overdriven signal.
Sets the amount of saturation in the overdriven signal.
Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio.
Sets the amount of low frequency content to saturate by selecting between three different bass boost levels before the clipping stage.
Sets the amount of treble content to saturate: The "Boost" setting emphasizes the treble content extra clarity and presence. The "Flat" position leaves this register untouched while the "Cut" position will reduce the amount of high frequencies being saturated. This new addition helps to keep the treble portion of the signal under control, specially useful when playing with new strings and/or cabinets with tweeters!
