Darkglass Super Symmetry Compressor Bass Pedal
Compression is an essential tool for any bassist. It helps even out the sound and gives you a set space to sit in the mix so no matter what the rest of the band is doing you can really hold down the low end. The Darkglass Super Symmetry combines the best of both vintage and modern compressors with a really transparent tone that lets the sound of your bass come through while still adding on a bit of vintage character via the attack and response of the pedal.
If you want accuracy and precession with split second tracking and a really powerful sound then you want a modern compressor. These are focused on enhancing your tone and letting you control exactly where you want in the mix by using transparent tone circuits with very fast tracking for a super smooth sound.
While the pedal is quite modern sounding overall the envelope filter on this pedal is actually rather vintage inspired. Without giving up any of the modern performance you are used to you can still dial in some more laid back compressed tones that have a bit more character than their modern counterparts.
Here's what Darkglass say about the Super Symmetry
The Super Symmetry offers all the transparency and precision of a modern compressor with the twist that its inherent envelope effect is reminiscent of old school compressors.
Like all of our pedals, allows for mixing the compressed and clean signals, ideal for fast compression adjustment (to reduce it you can dial back the blend and avoid having to readjust your Input and Output levels for unity gain).
Adjusts the gain on the compressor. Besides working great for ensuring clean operation, it also allows for adjusting the threshold over which the compressor starts reducing gain. Higher input settings will result in higher levels of compression.
Sets the time until gain reduction begins (higher settings will translate into faster Attack times).
Sets the time after which the signal goes back to pre gain-reduction levels. Higher release settings will hold the compressed signal for shorter time.
Sets the amount of compression (Peak Reduction).
Sets the output volume of the compressed signal.
