Product Description

Introducing a new compact bass head from TC Electronic with Toneprint technology. The TC Electronic BC250 is small, simple, and powerful with 250w of power that you can fit into the pocket of your bass case! Hook the BH250 up to a speaker cab or run directly through the PA with the DI output.

The BH250 allows you to load TC Toneprints which give you extra versatility. Select tones from TC's website including chorus, flanger, vibrato, octaver, compression and overdrive effects. That means you can dial in your favourite tones without the need for a complicated front panel interface.

Here's what TC Electronic say about the BH250

Our new BH250 is the only bass head that offers virtually endless musical and tonal inspiration via the revolutionary TonePrint concept in a package small enough to fit in your gig bag pocket.

With this compact, low-end wonder you get a massive 250 watts of power and a tone to die for, but it also adds ultimate versatility via the unique TonePrint feature and a built-in bass tuner that digests anything from 4 to 6 strings.

The TonePrint concept allows you to load signature bass effects in seconds: Chorus, Flanger, Vibrato, Sub'n' Up Octaver, SpectraComp or Bass Drive. You can choose from an ever-expanding list of signature artist TonePrints created by bass masters like Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Fourplay, Toto), Charles Cave (White Lies), Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stoneage), Gail Ann Dorsey (Lenny Kravitz, David Bowie, Seal), Mark King (Level 42), Roscoe Beck (Leonard Cohen, Robben Ford) and many more, all available for free on our website or via our TonePrint App for iPhone and Android. No doubt, playing with bass effects is loads of fun and can be an everlasting source of inspiration, triggering totally different ideas for new grooves and bass lines.

BH250 is so compact that it will fit in the pocket of your gig bag, and at just 4 lbs., the weight is hardly going to be noticeable. Whether you need a bass head at a rehearsal spaces, at home for practicing, for gigging at small to medium-sized venues or all of the above, BH250 is the perfect, portable solution.

You can hook up BH250 to any cabinet, or combination of cabinets (min. 4 ohm load). We recommend using BH250 with our range of BC cabinets or our top range of bass cabinets - the RS series.

TonePrints® for BH250

5 Things To Know About BH250TonePrint is a flexible effect slot that lets you decide exactly which effect the amp should use at any given time. BH250 comes loaded with our legendary SCF Chorus as default, but you can download numerous new bass effects from the TC Electronic website, replacing the chorus with other effects such as Octaver, Compressor, Overdrive, Distortion, Flanger and Vibrato.

To make the deal even sweeter, we had some of the best bass players in the world tailor their own personal effect tones for you to grab, and best of all – these Bass TonePrints are completely free of charge.

To load new types of effects or the artist-made Bass TonePrints, simply hook up your amp to a computer via the included USB cable. Or even cooler: beam them directly from your smartphone straight into BH250 using the mindblowing TonePrint App for iOS and Android. Quite simply, it is an ever-expanding effects joyride, as new TonePrints will be added constantly in the future. This is merely the beginning.

Please note: BH250 and BG250 share the same TonePrints, so you can load any BG250 TonePrint into BH250 - and vice versa.

It's a lot of amp for how cheap it is. An effects loop and footswitch would've been nice, but it's still great value without. It pumps out a lot of volume for only being 250W.

The last time I played bass seriously was around 20 years ago and I had a rack full of gear, an incredibly expensive amp that was the size of a small cottage and in all honesty, none of it sounded as good as the BH250. Incredible piece of kit that I use now for recording with the Ibanez SB405 and the two in combination mean there is virtually no sound I can't dial up at the the highest quality.

Small but powerful amp. Excellent sounds are easy to find with the unique controls. The toneprint function is great and together with the app. you can access a vast choice of effects. Also love the built-in tuner.

Great sounding little amp to my ears. So far only using chorus toneprint. With only one knob to adjust any effect, it is not as versatile as a dedicated pedal. But it is cheap and fun.

Great piece of kit and a nice size for live or studio

mark wijesinghe16th Aug 2019

Excellent clear tones, deep, punchy bass and crisp highs. Intelligent cut and boost on the three eq knobs (read the lurb). Comes into its own when you load up a compressor into the tone bank. I play from reggae to 70s p funk to 90s slap sounds through my Musicman (with added jbass front pup) Keeps up with the drummer in a large rehearsal room we often play gigs in for 150 people. Useful always on tuner. The ONLY downside of this amp for me is the the single speakon output as I usually gig with two 8ohm cabs.

Mr Luke Desborough1st Aug 2019

TonePrint is a treat and makes this so versatile great for direct out too! Running it straight into the pa is handy

Trusted Customer28th Jan 2016

Love the TonePrint feature - especially the flangers, phasers and SpectraComp. It's also great being so small and light, plus it seems tough - especially for the price. The EQ is the only real weakness in my opinion - 800Hz for the "mids" isn't "middy" enough for me, I'd rather have it boost lower. That can be cured with a pedal though. A small niggle is that the "passive" gain setting clips the DI signal even with my passive bass but this is easily fixable - flick the gain switch to "active"! I've paired mine with a 4 ohm Eden EX110, which makes a great, small, lightweight rig for small venues/ medium volume drums that can be DI'd to a PA if needs be. I'm sure if this were sent to a 4x10 or similar, there would be enough oomph for a medium gig.
