Product Description

Here's What Ashdown Say About the AGM-684C

The AGM 684 is a hugely versatile 1x12” combo fitted with a single Celestion Creamback G12M-65 as standard.

Hand made in England using the finest hand selected components the AGM series of valve amplifiers provide unmatched tonal versatility with unashamed British styling and performance for those who require spectacular tone in an uncomplicated format.

At the heart of the AGM-684 lies a truly magical power section made up of 6 x EL84 power tubes, running in Class A –AB (cathode bias system). This feature allows guitarists to replace output tubes (should the need arise) without having to call on a tech to re-bias the amplifier. Plug and play at it’s best giving you a great tone, gig after gig. With 45 watts of smooth harmonically rich tone and six differing output power levels via Pentode/Triode switching the AGM-684’s sweet spot is easy to find, whatever the gig.

The AGM-684 features two channels with independent EQs providing clean, crunch and overdriven tones whilst a 3 spring genuine ‘Accutronics’ tank provides sumptuous valve driven reverb.

A valve driven and recovered FX loop allows for the player’s favourite modulation style FX pedals to run straight into the power amp without loss of quality. Whilst Humbucker and Single Coil inputs allow for perfect instrument matching further optimising your tone even before you’ve turned your amplifier on.

The special ‘Cascade’ control allows the player to fine tune the level of gain available to channel 2, providing more clean headroom to crunch tones or earlier saturation for overdriven tones.

  • Full Dual channel Pre amplifier with individual Equalisation and channel volume controls- footswitch selectable
  • Channel 2 features an additional Cascade control for increased pre amp voltage giving higher gain tones

Here's What Ashdown Say About the AGM Range

Ashdown Engineering was founded in 1997 and has a rich heritage in both bass and guitar amplification producing amplifiers known around the world for their great looks, fantastic tone and ruggedly reliable designs and construction.

The all new AGM(Ashdown Guitar Magnifier) range marks a return to premium guitar amplification in 2019. Designed in conjunction with renowned British valve guru Dave Green the AGM range has been carefully considered, designed and constructed for the modern world where portability, low power options and real valve tones are paramount.

Dave Green explains: “Anything I have had a hand in is designed from the outset to repairable should the need ever arise, as with the bass amplifiers the products are built from discrete components with almost all the active components socket mounted for an easy fix. In the case of the AGM range just take a moment to look inside… all the parts are hand picked from the best manufacturers, all key components are over specified military grade to enable them to perform for a design life of over 15 years. I believe consumers still aspire to purchase top quality long lasting products with a high residual resale value. Quality never goes out of fashion but it does have to be affordable and the AGM range manages to combine these two conflicting requirements effectively.”
