Product Description

This particular Spector Euro4 LX is special - it's the signature model for Living Colour's boundary-pushing bassist Doug Wimbish. The ultimate live and studio instrument, Spector's Wimbish bass comes equipped with powerful EMG pickups and is made of simply exquisite woods and hardware - to the highest level of construction quality.

Construction

The Euro4 LX Doug Wimbish bass is designed for the modern player seamlessly jumping from style-to-style and in between playing techniques. It's crafted in the Czech Republic using top quality woods such as European Alder and USA Figured Maple for the body, as well as Maple for the neck. The Euro is contoured to feel comfortable against your body for any playing situation, with Spector's deep-socket neck granting supreme access to all 24 frets.

Active EMG Pickups

P/J pickup configurations are among the most versatile, and EMG's active pickups add another dimension in the form of biting contemporary tones. Set to cleans, these sound warm and smooth, while overdrive tones are far more gritty and punchy.

Spector TonePump System

To get the most out of the Euro4 LX's pickups, the Spector TonePump active EQ system lets you precisely tailor the bass and treble frequencies to make this instrument sound great in practically any mix.

History of Spector

Founded in 1976 by Stuart Spector and Alan Charney, Spector is regarded as one of the leading modern bass brands around today. When the company released its flagship NS-1 model in 1977, this instrument proved to raise the bar in the bass world with its contemporary feel, ergonomically-curved design and powerful pickups; qualities that most of its current bass offerings now share.

Spector has factories in both the Czech Republic and Korea, which produce the hand-made 'Euro' and affordable 'Legend' series' respectively. Their very best instruments are manufactured in a small North American facility. Renowned Spector players, both past and present, include Doug Wimbish (Living Colour), Rex Brown (Pantera) and Mike Starr (Alice In Chains).
