Product Description

Premium Taylor quality in a tiny package! The Taylor 800 series 811 Grand Theater is a small body acoustic made using extremely high quality tonewoods and new advanced C-Class bracing, with a dash of Taylor flair.

C-Class Bracing

Taylor's C-Class bracing is a new take on acoustic architecture. The asymmetrical pattern builds on the same forward-thinking concepts as the renowned V bracing, giving a boost to volume, pitch accuracy and sustain – exactly what a small acoustic needs.

Grand Theater body shape

Take Taylor's Grand Orchestra framework, scale it down and you have yourself a Grand Theater! It's slightly smaller and shallower than a classic grand concert, making it a great size to keep round the house or take with you out and about.

The GT 811 also as a result rocks a shorter 24-1/8th inch scale length, which lends itself well to slinky smooth playing. The fretboard doesn't feel cramped either thanks to the 1-23/32 inch nut width.

Construction and sound

The GT 811 is built using a tried and tested tonewood pairing of Indian rosewood back and sides and spruce top. The rosewood provides the rounder warmth to the smaller body, while the spruce is an ever reliable wood delivering on projection and firming up overall instrument stability.

Attached is a stunningly silky mahogany neck and a fretboard containing the sparkle of mother of pearl inlays. Other touches of class come in the form of a rosewood pickguard and maple soundhole binding. This is a truly high-end instrument made to stand the test of time.
