The Gibson Montana Hummingbird Custom is a premium take on the iconic Hummingbird design. With its solid Sitka spruce top, stunning AAA koa back and sides, and hand-engraved, hand-inlaid birds on the headstock, fingerboard, pickguard, and bridge. The Hummingbird Custom represents some of the finest craftsmanship coming out of the Gibson Montana factory.
Like the original, the Hummingbird custom features a solid spruce top for a balanced tone. For the back and sides however Gibson have gone for a more exotic tonewood, koa. Koa is known for its initially bright tone that mellows out as it ages into a warmer and sweeter sound. Koa is also one of the best looking tonewoods with its rich caramel colour and striking figuring. This guitar also comes fitted with LR Baggs electronics so you plug-in and perform straight out of the box.
What really makes this guitar stand out are the premium, custom appointments. The abalone rosette and binding frame the guitar beautifully, and the hand-engraved, hand-inlaid humingbirds on the headstock, fingerboard, pickguard, and bridge really convey the level of craftsmanship and detail that have gone into this guitar.
