Product Description

Dave Mustaine is one of the world's most influential metal musicians. Founding Megadeth in 1983 and still fronting the band almost 40 years later, Mustaine's technical thrash riffs, angsty vocals and blazing solos have inspired an entire generation; selling over 38 million records and counting! The Gibson Montana Dave Mustaine Songwriter pays tribute to the legendary musician and Gibson brand ambassador, whilst providing him with a platform to show his softer side!

Designed in collaboration with the Megadeth frontman, the Dave Mustaine Songwriter features a slightly thinner Walnut Songwriter body for a more comfortable playing experience. The Sitka Spruce top delivers a well-rounded tone with a broad dynamic range, making it a great tonewood for a most playing styles. A convenient cutaway allows for excellent access to each of the 24 frets. In fact, it is the first Gibson acoustic guitar to ever feature a 24 fret neck! An Advance Response Mahogany neck feels incredibly comfortable and is topped with a sleek Ebony fingerboard, adorned with Mother of Pearl teeth inlays.

The Dave Mustaine Songwriter is loaded with a market-leading LR Baggs VTC under saddle pickup, delivering natural sounding amplified tones. Volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole allow for accurate tone shaping whilst maintaining the guitar's natural characteristics. Other features include Grover Rotomatic tuners, a TUSQ nut, saddle and bridge pins and custom artwork from Vic Rattlehead on the pickguard and headstock. A custom hardshell case is also included.

Key Features

  • LR Baggs VTC Pickup - LR Baggs produce what are widely considered to be the some of best acoustic pickups in the world. The VTC doesn't colour your tone, allowing the guitar's subtle nuances to shine through.
  • Grover Rotomatic Tuners - Grover have a long standing history with Gibson and deliver accurate and reliable tuning every time.
  • 24 Fret Neck - The first time a Gibson acoustic has ever featured 24 frets, allowing for more freedom and note choice when playing lead lines higher up the neck.
  • Advance Response Neck Profile - An ergonomic neck profile that lends itself perfectly to both rhythm and lead playing.
  • Custom Hardshell Case - A sturdy hard case that will keep your guitar safe from bumps and dings when it's time to leave the house!
