Product Description

A true Fender classic, this '68 Custom Princeton Reverb amplifier from Fender draws from the most authentic, original Fender tones. The well-known 'Silverface' panel represents an era where Fender amps were a staple; they were the go-to tube amp for performers and studios throughout the rock 'n' roll world.

The '68 Custom Princeton Reverb amp features a 1x10" Celestion speaker (with reverb and tremolo on each channel) and dual inputs to accommodate for different kinds of pickups. It projects creamy, fat, lively tube tones in a cabinet that remains highly portable. You'll find it ideal for those smaller gigs and studio scenarios.

Rich History

'68 was an important year for the amp arm of the Fender brand. Their respective looks were completely overhauled, in this amps case, receiving an aluminium grille cloth trim and a silver/turquoise front panel. Adding to this a trademark punchy tube tone (augmented by Fender's highly regarded vibrato and reverb effects) and a compact, lightweight build, and you've got an amp that's become one of the top choices for those searching for that iconic Fender sound.

Paying Homage

This amp takes inspiration from the 'Silverface' models that became prevalent in the late '60s. However, it features its own unique twists in a number of areas - the big one being a tone circuit that's been tweaked to offer increased tonal options with your pedals. Alongside this, you'll notice a much faster onset of overdrive, and a lower negative feedback (resulting in improved touch sensitivity).

Cracking amp. Plenty of poke, can’t get it passed 3 on the volume and that’s with a light drummer. Takes pedals brilliantly. Doesn’t sound like a 10 inch speaker.

Loud enough for a reasonable band (drums, bass, 2 guitars, brass section). Great tones all the way through the volume pot so suitable for both home, rehearsals and small/medium gigs. I did see a stones covers band with one of these on stages at a large(ish) gig so it depends what you're after. Takes pedals well (inc. fuzz faces) and is highly portable. Definitely a keeper

It's Fender, what extra can I say. Fantastic tone, portable, great price. Exactly what I wanted from an amp in my studio. 😀

Beautiful little amp, ideal for studio and small gigs.

Trusted Customer3rd Jul 2015

This amplifier is perfect for me and adjusts to different styles. It's not as glassy with the cleans as the blackface version but with a wampler black 65 in front, it is. That's the point really, it takes pedals amazingly well and much better than the blackface version. The cleans on their own are still great though. Overdriven whether through pedals or sheer volume is amazing. The reverb and vibrato/term are equally as good. I am so happy I got this amp. The bass is tight and full and it's just a brilliant all rounder. Very happy
