Kids Guitars
Looking to buy your child their first guitar? Kids up to the age of 11 may struggle to get on with a full-size guitar. Here at Andertons we have a great selection of kids size guitars and basses to get them started the right way!
Kids Guitars
Full-sized guitars can be incredibly challenging on small hands, which can be quite disheartening to someone just starting to learn the guitar, especailly at Christmas time. Buying a guitar that's the right size for your child will give them the best possible start in their musical journey!
Don't be fooled though, just because they are kids size, they are not toys. Many big catalogue retailers sell very cheap kids guitars which are low quality ad very difficult to play. At Andertons we only stock reputable brands that build high quality instruments, and every guitar must pass an exacting quality control check. So you can rest assured that if you buy from us, you'll be getting an instrument that is up to the task!
What Size Should I get?
- Age 5-7 - we recommend a 1/2 size guitar, such as the EastCoast 1/2 Size Classical
- Age 8-11 - we recommend a 3/4 size guitar. Squier, Epiphone & Jackson all offer 3/4 size Electric Guitars, and EastCoast make excellent 3/4 size Acoustics
- Age 12+ - by around age 12, most kids will have grown enough to feel comfortable with a full-size guitar. Why not check out our Best Electric Guitars for Beginners or Best Acoustic Guitars for Beginners
