Roland CY8 Dual Trigger Cymbal Pad

This durable 8.5-inch rubber pad offers super-accurate triggering and a time-tested design for years of reliable use. The PD-8's dual-trigger capabilities make it perfect for triggering rim shots on the toms (when used with the TD-6V) or bow/edge sounds on the hi-hat.

My only niggle is that the 'choke' feature is sometimes triggered when striking the edge trigger which is a bit odd. Not sure if that's a setup problem with the RMP5 it's connected to or some adjustment needs to be made to the damping/swinging motion on the cymbal stand mount.

A truly excellent addition to any electronic drum kit. This product may have a rather high price, however it's certainly built to last and is extrememly playable. Though the pad certainly does not feel like a true cymbal, there is good stick response and the dual-zone technologly coupled with the ability to choke the cymbal makes for a fun playing experience. Brilliant effects can be achieved whith a very little adjustment to your playing style. Excellent, but expensive.

Added the cymbal to my TD3 drum set-up, to complete the expansion. It's a great addition.

    Where do I start?

A great way of expanding your kit, all you have to do is plug in and adjust one little setting and you have an extra cymbal to play with. Good price and most importantly...great service!!!

Why is it great? This is why...

I knew I wanted to get my new gear from Andertons, their prices are always good and I have had good service from them in the past. But oh no! They don't stock the right mount for my kit!! I emailed them asking if they do and was it just a case of it being out of stock?

No they don't stock it, but they were more than happy to order it for me. (Thats after they corrected my choice of mount, becuase I had foolishly asked for the wrong mount for my kit!!) Excellent.

To be fair it took a long time to arrive, but I was told that was becuase Roland were slow in dispatching it to the store. The box was also slightly damaged, but again, that may have been due to the two couriers it took to get it to me!

Overall its a great piece of kit for a good price, and you're always gonna get good service...

WILL ALWAYS GO BACK TO ANDERTONS!!! :)

A must buy for anyone with a Roland kit. It opens up a lot of opportunities expanding your kit and is well worth the money.

Great product - just like the rest of the Roland kit. A little bit expensive when you consider that you have to buy the cymbal arm separately.... and it's about the same price as the cymbal itself.

Good addition to the drum kit though.
