A Killer New Sound
Thanks to a completely new M-Audio synth engine, Venom merges analog flavor with digital power-providing a unique sonic signature that stands apart from the glossy sheen of other virtual analog synths. Customers get 41 oscillator waves and 53 drum sounds sampled from the most awesome vintage keyboards of the past four decades-complete with DSP-induced oscillator drift for a retro vibe. Each of the 12 simultaneous virtual analog voices features three oscillators, giving users tons of flexibility for octaves, intervals, and fat, detuned offsets. Venom even offers FM, sync, and dynamic wave-shaping on all waveforms for unique hybrid sounds. For even more sound-shaping possibilities, the Venom resonant multimode filter features 12dB/octave (2-pole) and 24dB/octave (4-pole) operation, with tube saturation limiting on the input for that classic overdriven sound. Each voice also sports three LFOs with selectable sample-and-hold to create evolving, rhythmic sounds-plus three AHDSR envelopes for total sonic control.
A Pleasure to Play
Why should customers settle for a synth with toy-like keys or a clunky user interface? The Venom synth's 49 full-size, velocity-sensitive keys deliver a satisfying and inspiring musical experience for serious players. The four-octave keyboard is perfect for banging out bass lines, synth stabs, and blazing leads-while the intuitive top panel performance controls provides easy access to key synth parameters.
A Powerful Production Machine
Thanks to a built-in USB 2.0 audio/MIDI interface, Venom unleashes the production power of Pro Tools M-Powered (version 8 and higher) and other popular music software. Microphone, line, and stereo line inputs let customers record vocals, guitar, and other instruments directly into their DAW software-without the hassle of any additional gear. They can also record MIDI tracks into their software, then play them back in real time using the Venom synth sound engine. Customers can even conjure up wild new sounds by routing instruments and external audio signals through the synth's filters, envelopes, and LFOs.

In my opinion this MIDI keyboard/synth it has a great key action for playing the notes with. There are some great stock sounds included with the synthesizer and they can all be tweaked about with using the great feeling control knobs on the Venom or through using the vyzex venom software that comes with the venom. It does get quite technical as far as getting everything set up - I had trouble with things for a start but its well worth persevering and i got great help from Andertons in solving all my issues. The Venom is a quality sounding digital synth made to sound like a very convincing analogue synth. I need to learn to play music better now myself - but i have already reproduced a Depeche mode riff with it. With this synth being MIDI as well i have a lot of instruments I can play - the possibilities are endless! I am sure i will be able to produce something very special with the Venom in the not too distant future - A very inspiring and quality product.

After years of trying to get the right drum sound and synth sounds combined, the venom more than meets my expectations and blew me away.
Excellent product considering the price, definitely worth having in your collection.

I could not believe the number of MASSIVE patches, voices, preinstalled with the M-Audio Venom synth?!
Not that a great number, really as many as most of the analog synths, Novation Untranova, Korg MicroXL, Dave Smith Magic Roundabout Dylan Turbo synth...
On the Venom, he hard core and hard techno voices all just are bangin' There are no slots at all for lawn grazers, Star Trek phasers nor calculators. I turn it on, and blast away immediately like Apocalypse Now helicopter assault meets Matrix Revolutions Sentinels BREAKTHROUGH!!

I recently purchased the M-audio Venom on a whim, and I've been pleasantly surprised with the capability of this machine, considering the relatively low price, and how easy it is to programme once connected to the Laptop. Whilst many of the parameters can be tweaked on the front of the Venom, the software provided adds another dimension, and is comprehensive & intuitive allowing one to create a myriad of novel and outrageous patches, covering a wide range of styles. Whether your preferred genre is Hip-Hop, Electronic, Ambient, House or Techno, this synth is in no way eclipsed by it's more expensive rivals, and will fit into anyone's studio. So far a very enjoyable purchase!

I can not believe the Venom synth is so cheap! It has killer sounds, is very easy to tweak (using the supplied software)and is just, well, FUN! It looks unusual I guess, being white but it's a different kind of synth so why not look different.
I had got annoyed with other manufacturers bringing out "new" keboards all the time that sound the same as all the other ones, with more pianos, more organs etc. Well, now I can make woosh, ping, growl, bass in ya face and screaming leads that will shred steel. I think I'm in love.
