Moog SlimPhatty Synthesizer

Bringing the classic Moog heritage to your studio: the Moog SlimPhatty is Moog's most affordable synth ever! The SlimPhatty follows on from the hugely popular Little Phatty with the same great sound engine but this time in a compact "module only" form that will sit neatly on your desktop or in a rack.

You can control the SlimPhatty with any normal MIDI controller and even chain up two or more units for glorious Moog Polyphony!

Here's what Moog say about the SlimPhatty

The Moog SlimPhatty is the long awaited follow-up to the hugely successful Little Phatty. All the sound of the Phatty, but in a petite tabletop or rack-mountable form. It's the most affordable Moog Synth on the market!

The SlimPhatty can sit on a table top or mount in a rack. Rack ears and a handsome wood casing are optionally available. The Slim is built on the architecture of the best selling Little Phatty synth for great Moog sound and simple intuitive user interface.

Main Features

  • Two Rock Solid Oscillators
  • Universal Internal Power Supply
  • External Audio Input and CV Inputs for Pitch, Filter, Volume and Keyboard Gate.
  • MIDI over USB
  • Arpeggiator
  • New Cutting Edge sound bank
  • 24 dB/Oct Moog Ladder filter with filter Overload control and a single Output VCA
  • An Envelope Generator section provides two ADSR Envelopes
  • The Modulation section contains a 4-waveform LFO, and a 1x2 Mod Bus with 8 possible mod sources and 4 possible destinations
  • There is a Master Volume control, Fine Tune, an Output On/Off switch, and a headphone output jack.

Dimensions and Weight

This is the smallest and lightest Moog ever. Designed for the traveling musician, it easily fits in a backpack or your luggage.

It's 17" wide. If rack mounted, the Slim only takes up 3 rack spaces and 4 5/16" deep. When used as a table top synth, it will be 4 9/16" high and 5 5/16" deep. Only 2.6 kg (5.75 lb.)!

The Slim can be played from the front panel, played with any MIDI controller, or used as a voice expander with a Little Phatty, Minimoog Voyager, or other synths...

Colour me Polyphonic

The question of the Polyphonic Moog is now on many lips. Does the SlimPhatty introduce polyphonic-chaining? No! In fact, Moog quietly made polyphony possible back in 2007 by allowing you to chain multiple units together...

This exciting feature is used to set up multiple Moog synths as a polyphonic synth stack. One synth per voice... up to 16 voices! MIDI control numbers are consistent between the Voyager and Little Phatty, so any parameter changes such as pitch bend and mod wheel, filter cutoff and so on, affect all voices simultaneously.

Up to 16 units can be linked! The SlimPhatty now makes putting together a Polyphonic Moog rig more possible than ever.

first of all, its moog. and its hard to say anything bad about moog.

got novation ultranova, which i love, got NI komplete 8, same feeling, BUT... i've missed so much something in bottom end. some proper umph. so. i got it now.

and that filter. omg. when arrived, i have played just with one sound and filter knob nearly one hour. there is tone of juice. this is proper beef.

you cant expect some deep programming here. but even as it is you can do loads of brain squashing. if you really like to play you will find simplicity of it as a strongest weapon.

there is few things to program in menu, but its not that bad. like arpegiator lets say. but personally don't miss that.

plenty of options how to control it from outside world.

    amazing sound.

build like tank with great feeling.

looks amazing in dark:) you know, flashing, shining... xmass tree :)

what i found really unfair that you got to pay for editor. but if i am right, afterwards you can use it kind of like a VST. if is work this way, there is not so many options out there on the market with real analogs.
