The Fano Guitars Alt de Facto SP6 is beautifully hand-built guitar that looks something of a marriage between a 50s single cutaway and a 50s Telecaster. Each SP6 is hand made and distressed one at a time by Dennis Fano of the Premier Builders Guild so that each one is a little different from any others, each has its own charector and charm that no one but you will own. Body material is Mahogany: the classic single cutaway tonewood, while bridge and control plate are solid metal Telecaster style appointments. Even the neck profile is 'late 50s roundback' a chunky affair between a C and D shape that lets you get a ncie fist full of rock solid stain and thick tone. The rosewood fretboard is a compound radius to allow for meaty chords in the lower registers and fast soloing with choke free bends in the upper registers.
Dual Lollar p-90 pickups give Alto de Facto SP6 number 185 a fat biting tone with plety of definition and all the thump you could want whether you're playing blues, rock or any other style that requires a singing crunching tone with bucket loads of clarity and a bite to match it's bark!
Finished in Faded Tea Burst with a medium distress for a worn in look and feel that's instantly comfortable in your hands
Here's what Dennis Fano says about the Alt de Facto series
I've always had an interest in building instruments that combined features from a variety of guitars - the guitars that might have existed in an alternate reality where the great American guitar makers and innovators of the 1950s would've existed under one roof, as a collective. That is the idea behind the Alt de Facto series.
The Alt de Facto models pay homage to some of the classic American guitar makers of the mid 20th century. From the aged nickel hardware and well-worn feel of the distressed lacquer finish to details such as the traditional German carved top of the RB6, the vibe is purely vintage. Although the Alt de Facto's are built on a solid foundation of classic aesthetics and time-tested materials like alder, swamp ash and mahogany, they are propelled into the 21st century by features that include a compound radius fingerboard, TonePros and Gotoh hardware and custom wound Fralin pickups that deliver a wide range of tones suitable for any style of music. Each Fano guitar is individually handcrafted one at a time, so no two are alike.
