    Likes:

    - The contoured neck on this guitar is easily the most comfortable, fastest and easy to play guitar neck I ever played, hands down. Great upper fret access too.

    - If you're into metal, you'll love the Seymour Duncan Blackouts. They have all the qualities usually associated with active pickups, but have a richer, fuller tone than EMGs. Clean tone is also excellent.

    - Value for money: good components, neck through body construction and great tone for an accessible price.

    Dislikes:

    - Some minor aesthetic flaws: binding is clearly brighter in the head-stock than in the body (due to the finishing coat on the body) and the neck joint (despite very comfortable and unobtrusive), looks a bit unfinished.

    Wow!

A lot of plank for your bucks here! The compound radius neck allows relaxed fretting from top to bottom and the SD blackout pick ups do clean, sustain and roar with ease. A very comfortable guitar that has been meticulously put together and feels like a long term keeper. 1 disappointment is the lack of a black mask in the box as it feels like a robbery getting one at this price when equivalent Gibsons and ESP's would easily be twice the price.

    Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a fast, comfortable guitar with active pickups and high output I'd highly recommend this one. Besides the fact it looks sexy and kinda unique with the blonde neck and abalone binding - something about this guitar just grabbed me and wouldn't let go. When shopping around in this price bracket I narrowed my choices to the PRS SE Torero, Ibanez ARZ800, an LTD Singlecut of similar spec and this. This, in my opinon, blows 'em all out the water. Something about the compound radius neck and contoured body make it one of the most "easy to play" guitars I've come across.

One thing that stands out over it's competitors is the use of the SD Blackouts rather than EMG's. IMO the Duncans have a much rounder and beefier sound in a mahogany guitar than the EMG's. What I'm even more pleased with is the trem. The guitar arrived perfectly in tune and after abusing the Floyd Rose quite a bit it's still pitch perfect. So far I've put it through three long band rehearsals and played it every day - yet to see how it stands up live but due to the solid build quality, great components and rich overall sound I have my expectations set high.

A note about the electronics - it's wired opposite to a Les Paul i.e. the bridge volume and tone pot are above the neck (it's designed that way).

Highly recommend this guitar for amateurs or pro's.

Cutaway could have perhaps been better designed however it slopes quite nicely to fit your hand. This combined with the scalloped heel make upper fret access much easier than on a les paul for example. Incase you didn't know this model does indeed come with grover tuners rather than charvel ones on the ST version.

Highly recommend this guitar for amateurs or pro's.
