Mapex Black Panther 'The Phatbob' 14x7 Ultra Thick Maple Snare
At the beginning of 2010, Mapex redesigned their entire Black Panther Snare Drum range with 14 new models. Mapex have improved the hoops on the range with their "sonic saver" hoop design. This bridges the gap between flanged and die-cast hoops with their rounded shape reducing wear on sticks whilst retaining the ability to produce an easy and clear rimshot.
A new throwoff is easy and smooth to operate and the adjustment dial has micro-lock technology which allows to adjust tension silently with a tactile "click" proving feedback so you can make highly-accurate adjustments. The drums feature either sculpted shield-style or forged tube-style lugs, and new and improved finishes compared to older models.
