This shockmount for the sE-X1 and sE4400A condenser microphones reduces any noise transmitted through the microphone stand so you don't have to worry about picking up low frequency rumble. Designed to complement the sE Electronics X1 and 4400 condenser mics.

This shock mount does a good job of isolating the Se X1 from vibration. It is also an aesthetic match with the same black rubber coating, although surprisingly, it has no Se Electronics badging. It is, however, rather expensive and I found it not to be especially easy to use. It is possible (but not easy) to adjust the angle of the mic in the shock mount: out of the box I found that the back of the mic actually rested against the suspension, which surely defeats the point. Additionally, I find installing or removing the mic from the shock mount to be a bit of a struggle. The mic is held in place by a clamp which is a tight fit and much pushing and pulling is required. I also find that the screw that tightens the clamp falls out when I am loosening it. These problems may have more to do with me than the shock mount but I would advise anyone to check out the shock mount before purchase.

Good idea, but product is clumsy. Difficult to use and not well made.

I use this in a home (OK, back bedroom) studio with an Se X1 mic. Quality and fit are excellent and the mic certainly does the job it's meant to of isolating the mic from the little thumps and bumps that come from a crowded room and a clumsy vocalist.

I've knocked a point off because I think the price is a bit high for what's a fairly simple piece of equipment - but then that's true of nearly all shock mounts.

Other than that, it's a nice piece of kit that fits and does the job well. Full marks as ever to Andertons (my gear supplier of choice) for a quick and efficient service.
