Meridian Maple ushers in a new level of quality and functionality in mid-level, all Maple drum sets. With a completely new lug and redesigned lightweight isolated tom mounting system, the Meridian series features bright and resonant all Maple shells in a wide selection of lacquered and covered finishes.
Mapex's newly designed Isolated Tom Mount System is significantly lighter in weight and lower in profile than before and is more easily mounted and adjusted. The 7ply All-Maple shells resonate freely with minimal contact from hardware components.
Each Meridian Maple set is proudly finished with an eight coat, high gloss, hand-rubbed lacquer that's more often only kept exclusively for custom, high end sets.
TIGHT, BRIGHT CLASSIC TONE
We have fallen in love with this fantastic classic 'Jazz' kit. The transparent Chesnut lacquer combined with the high chrome fittings exudes class and taste and seems to match the tight, compact sizes perfectly.
Whilst traditionally these sizes suggest the kit should be for jazz and jazz alone, we have heard this beauty and know it can perform in a wider range of environments. The 18x14 kick drum packs a serious punch whilst being light and transportable, the 12x8 rack is a great, easily tunable dynamic size and the 14x14 floor stands it's ground wherever you take it.
A 14x5.5 maple snare is warm and sensitive at all tensions so we see no reason why this kit should be limited to a single genre.
We here at Mapex HQ are convinced so we're taking them out on our heavy hitting rounds to cause a stir and save a back or two!
Also included are the single tom mount and AC909 Rizer that lifts the kick up so the beater of the pedal strikes dead center.
