Epiphone "Inspired by Lennon" Casino Outfit in Lennon Natural

Introducing the Inspired by John Lennon Epiphone Casino. The Gibson Casino was John Lennon's guitar of choice, and the main guitar on the Sgt. Pepper album, and now thanks to Epiphone you can own a Lennon-style casino without busting out rockstar amounts of cash.

A faithful reproduction of the guitar Lennon bought in 1966 for the Revolver sessions, this Epi pays huge attention to detail right down to the black washer round the toggle switch, and blue sticker inside the sound hole.

Epiphone haven't skimped on quality either, incorporating Gibson electronics, P-90 pickups and high quality hardware (Switchcraft Jack & Switch and Grover tuners). They're even throwing in a hard case! The cash you might have spent upgrading the pickups or hardware can stay in your back pocket!

Reviews

  • "Overall, this 'Inspired By' Casino has that vintage-like tone down to a tee and is wonderfully musical. In comparison, the far cheaper standard Chinese-made Casino lacks the charm and charisma of the 'Inspired By' model - both tonally and visually."
  • "The slim-taper neck, with its medium gauge fretwire and a 355mm (14-inch) radius makes for a very comfortable feel and low-playing action. Mind you, the high-gloss finish on the back of the neck is a bit 'sticky'- some players might have preferred a more 'played in' feel."

Here's what Epiphone say about the Lennon Revolution Casino

The NEW "Inspired by" John Lennon Casinos offer the professional musician the same key features of Epiphone's acclaimed John Lennon signature U.S.A. Casinos but at a more affordable price. Also based upon the "1965" Casino and the "Revolution" Casino, these two "Inspired by" versions combine the cost-effective workmanship of Epiphone's own factory in Asia with original Gibson U.S.A. electronics including classic P-90 pickups with dog-ear, nickel plated covers and a Switchcraft(tm) made toggle and output jack.

The "Inspired by" Revolution Casino

In 1968, John had his Casino sanded down to the bare wood and covered with a thin, dull finish. During that time, he also replaced the tuners with Gold Grovers and removed the
pickguard. He first used this "natural" Casino during "The White Album" sessions in 1968. The "Inspired by" Revolution Casino is a reproduction of this stripped guitar and as it also remains today.

The Complete Package

Both "Inspired by" Casinos include a hard case while the Revolution version also includes the unattached pickguard and mounting bracket. Support Music Education: As with all Epiphone Lennon guitars, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each goes to the BMI Foundation for the John Lennon Scholarship Fund which supports music education. Backed by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 day Customer Service, these new "Inspired by" Casinos capture the essence of the 1960's and the Beatles with their authentic looks, specifications and one-of-kind sound and feel that only a Casino has. Pickup one today and start a Revolution!

Although I have owned several accoustic guitars (Ovation Celebs), and have been playing for a number of years, my experience with electric guitars is minimal. I am a fan of Beatles music and the different sounds they produced so when I wanted to purchase an electric guitar I asked around and read many reviews. The conclusion was to try the John Lennon inspired Epiphone Casino. I only tried it for about 15 mins in the shop and purchased it there and then. Several of my electric guitar playing friends have looked at it and said that it is a quality guitar and I am well happy with it. The set-up is spot on, the playability is excellent and the sounds it produces are just what I was after - overall if you want a versatile semi accoustic, that can play lots of different styles then I would reccomend this guitar - just change the original strings!

Feels and plays beautifully, tone is a vast improvement from the standard casino, and the sound from the "Tribute" pickups is excellent.

Extremelly glad I decided to go with the Casino IBJL

I wanted a hollow body or archtop that could be played unamplified, I have tried many different makes and models and most need to be plugged-in to be able to produce a worthwhile volume - the revolution, however, is loud enough to get a reasonable sound without being plugged in.

The inspired by John Lennon Casino is a really excellent guitar – Just opening the case and extracting the guitar is an event, enjoying the feel of the guitar and quality build of the neck with the gold grover tuners.

The Lennon connection adds to the desirability of the axe and I’ve reappraised my opinion of the beatle as a musician - in the past I’d always looked upon him as a terrific songwriter but never focused on his playing ability, now when I look at the work he did particularly with the Epiphone Casino I can be see the variety of different unique sounds he managed to get and how this guitar became an extension of the man himself . The Casino is versatile warm and melodic but also capable of producing hard-edged rock when required . The guitar has a great action it has an understated class about it and it just looks and handles exceptionally well, it’s an all round peach of a guitar with an interesting link to a majorly important period in rock history.
