54 years old and a Complete beginner of 14 weeks but needed to fulfill my need for a variety of guitars, this BBKing Lucille by Epiphone being my 4th guitar. A beautifully made guitar, worthy of hanging on my wall and thinking what could be if I had time to play properly. This is an ornament to behold. Read the other reviews after purchase and boy! has this fulfilled my dreams.

The service from Andertons was nothing less than brilliant. Promptly delt with and extremely helpful. The BBKing is definately worth buying as is Andertons for an establishment to purchase from. FANTASTIC

Being a relative novice to the guitar playing world but having a passion for an eclectic range of musical styles, I wanted to try and emulate the sound and vibe from a master of the Blues, none other than B.B.King himself. Having weighed up the pro's and cons of the Epiphone versus Gibson comparison, as well as trying to find yet more wall space for my ever growing collection (6 now), I opted to go for the Epiphone model.

Upon opening the box I was greeted with a majestic looking guitar that looked absolutely stunning in its ebony livery complimented with the gold hardware. The neck is very slender and having similar "sausage-like" fingers to Master King, this was a definite advantage for me. It instantly felt right in the hand and it is comfortable to play seated or standing and the strap button position balances the guitar very nicely.

The finish on the guitar was superb aside from a minor gripe on the fit of the back cover but on the whole I would give the finish a 9.5 out of 10. The controls feel very expensive and the pots have a silky movement which belies the price of the guitar. The pick ups are nicely voiced and without too much undue noise but they are not keen on too much gain from the amp ( I use a Fender G-dec 30). Having said that, you can raise the gain and control the sounds admirably with the volume pots on the guitar and this varies the attack and tone very well. The sheer number of sounds available is astonishing because you have an additional 6 tonal variations accessed via the varitone switch and it doesn't take long to tune in to that BB King sound. I have spent hours just discovering its capabilities and I am not done yet! This really is a huge amount of tonal pleasure wrapped up in an aesthetically pleasing guitar which pays admirable homage to it's namesake. I would have no hesitation in recommending this guitar to anyone who wants a versatile semi, without all the associated feedback issues of an F- holed model. This is more than a blues guitar, the tones it is capable of make it suited for a vast array of music but if you are a high gain shredding fanatic, this may not be for you!

I am not sure where the £1500 price differenc e is between this model and Gibson's version but I am over the moon with this, my second Epiphone guitar, and I can but urge you to buy one these "Lucille's", you won't be disappointed.

i found the staff at andertons very efficient and polite whether you are a begginner or a pro i think andertons is the place to shop i will certainly consider future purchases. the epiphone bb king lucille i purchased is a beautiful instrument to play i think it would do with a better action set up but apart from that it has a wide sound variation that is great for blues and rock and roll, very pleased.

I have been wanting to buy the Epiphone version of the BB King Lucille guitar for some time now.

Ordered it mid-day on a Monday and was delivered free ,with a free Gig bag the following day. Was slightly worried about what the set-up might be like , but was told it is set-up at the factory and checked before delivery.

On the face of it it is a beautiful and well finished guitar and very good value for the £450 paid.

It tuned-up very easily and kept in tune fairly well, which is a sign of a good set-up.

I played about with it for an hour and came to the conclusion that the Vari-Tone 6 settings knob, was best on 1,5 or 6.

I took it to my next lesson and my tutor loved the guitar, and thought was as good as the 'real' one, which he has played. His Ibanez is , bottom, line, is a load of rubbish so he is very tempted as he teaches Blues guitar.

Linked the guitar up with my Boss MP20 and you can get some very different sounds coming from my Vox Valvetronix which I bought at Andertons as well

Bite the bullet and go out and buy one.
