The Regal RD-40 is a Resonator guitar that's a little closer to what most guitarists are comfortable: the awesome 'voice' tone of a resonator with the singing qualities of a wooden bodied guitar. The top is spruce and back and sides are mahogany for a classic acoustic tone that mixes with the metal resonator for a tone thats beyond just the 'best of both worlds' but the 'dobro' style design kicks out tone that is completely unique to the RD-40 and won't sound out of place on a front porch or on a modern folk-pop recording

I wanted a resonator guitar and after reading a lot of reviews of the budget level instruments, I decided on the Regal and am not dissapointed. The quality of sound and finish are superb and I very much enjoy playing this guitar. I did not have to do anything to the guitar other than tuning and played it straight out of the box. For the money, I cannot fault it and would recommend it to anyone wishing to try a resonator.
