T Rex Chameleon Power Supply

Every guitarist with a pedal board knows the importance of a good quality, multi way power supply. Most pedals need a 9v supply & most power supplies offer multiple 9v outputs. But what if you've got some weird & wonderful pedals that need 9v, 12v, even 18v to run them? What if you've got a mix of AC & DC requirements on your board?

Problem solved - the T Rex Fuel Tank Chameleon.

Here's what T Rex say about the Chameleon

YOU'VE GOT THE PEDALS, WE'VE GOT THE POWER

Introducing Fuel Tank Chameleon, our most versatile power supply yet.
The classic T-Rex pedals you've collected over the years all work together to tell an amazing story – the story of your unique sound, and the sonic footprint you leave behind wherever you play. But to tell your story well – the way it deserves to be told – your pedals have to work perfectly. All together. Every time. With no hassles.

Enter the new Fuel Tank Chameleon, the most versatile power supply T-Rex has ever produced. Built for players with a large
number of diverse pedals, Fuel Tank Chameleon offers all the advantages of our other Fuel Tank power supplies, plus
an unprecedented 4 separate voltage
options.

Here's what you get:
• 6 separate outlets (use up to 5 simultaneously)
• Your choice of 9V DC, 12V DC, 18V DC or 12V AC power
• Isolated, 300mA outlets (1,500mA total)
• Switchable 115V or 230V mains
• All the cables you need
• Compact, rugged, road-ready design
• Legendary T-Rex quality

Part of the Fuel Tank family
The Fuel Tank Chameleon is only the latest addition to the T-Rex Fuel Tank family. Our original Fuel Tank Classic features 5 outlets and is ideal for medium-sized pedal boards. It comes with lots of single patch cables and a multiple link cable. The Fuel Tank “Juicy Lucy” powers 5 12V pedals and also offers great extras, like multiple unit linking. The baby of the family – Fuel Tank Junior – is a good choice for a small number of 9V pedals. It offers both currency doubling to 240 mA and voltage doubling to 18V.

This is a quality made power supply. Perhaps not the most exciting item on the pedal board but potentially the most important.

The T REX Fuel Tank Chameleon is really versatile due to the switchable voltage on its six outputs. It's well made and looks about as good as a power supply can. It comes with more cable options than you could possibly need and generally takes care of business.

Why only 4*? It is very expensive for what it is (although I still bought one!).

Great service from Andertons as always.

Pretty much does what it says on the tin - however, according to the TRex web site (as this is not made clear anywhere else) the 18v output can only provide 150mA when in 18v mode as opposed to 300mA in 9v mode. I suspect the specifications as quoted are conservative and hence I've not had any problems with running high current draw pedals so far, but something to bear in mind.

    Three stars?

    Because it is very expensive!
