T Rex Fuel Tank Power Supply

T Rex are based in Denmark and have been established since 1996. They are one of the original "boutique" pedal manufacturers, offering guitar and bass players a superior range of FX pedals. All the pedals are built to last and come with a 2 year warranty. The T Rex range has some of the most toneful overdrive pedals we've ever heard, and the T Rex Replica is one of the best delay pedals on the market - widely used by pro players becasue of the way it accurately replicates a tape echo pedal. T Rex pedals look great, sound better and are reasonably priced. We also really like their range of Tone Trunk pedal boards and whatever pedals you own, we'd recommend these for housing your pedals on.

Here's what T Rex say about the Fuel Tank Power Supply

Running on full
No more batteries to change. No more tangled cables to trip over. FuelTank is the perfect power supply unit for guitarists who want to focus on their performance, not their gear. Delivering 1.500 mA through ten DC plugs, FuelTank powers all your pedals, keeping you running on full power night after night. With a compact design, FuelTank fits conveniently every pedalboard including the T-Rex ToneTrunk effect board. And it comes with all the cables you need to get you up and running. The dimensions of the FuelTank are:L:15,8 cm H:3,8 cm W:7,6 cm

Pure power
FuelTank delivers 1.500 mA of reliable power. Two of the ten outputs provide 12-volt power with isolated ground, one DC and the other AC, for AC pedals.

Features
MAINS input power plug, 3-pin standard plug
Voltage selector, 115/230 volts
eight 9-volt DC output plugs, all sharing the same ground. Giving a total of 500 mA
one 12-volt DC output with isolated ground, giving 500 mA
one 12-volt AC output with isolated ground, giving 500 mA
Blue LED when unit is ON
Slow burning fuse 250V 250mA

Includes
One 5-connector link cable/daisy chain for the DC outputs
Eight black extension cables for the DC outputs, length 25 cm
ten black extension cables for the DC outputs, length 50 cm
two red extension cables for the 12-volt AC output, 25 cm
one standard mains power cable

FAQ
1. Can the FuelTank run all T-Rex pedals?
ANSWER: No. The Room-Mate and the Squeezer uses more than 500 mA together. So the 12 volt DC output cannot run them both. All other T-Rex pedals can be powered by the FuelTank. Use the 12 volt AC plug for the Replica.

2. Does the FuelTank have isolated outputs?
Answer: The FuelTank consists of 3 isolated blocks - 9V DC, 12V AC & 12V DC. The eight 9V DC outputs all share the same ground, which means that they are not isolated.

3. Is each output short-circuit protected?
Answer: Yes.

4. Can the FuelTank power other pedals than T-Rex pedals?
Answer: Yes, the FuelTank powers all pedals that need 9V DC and 12 V AC or 12V DC. It can NOT power an 18V pedal. As each block of outputs gives a total of 500mA, the FuelTank cannot power pedals which need more than 500 mA.

5. Is it better to use the link cable (daisy chain) instead of the singular cables.
ANSWER: Yes. In some areas, like Greece, there can be noise in the electricity. You can avoid that by using the Daisy chain.

6. Can all T-Rex pedals run on 12 volt DC?
Answer: Yes. Also the Replica. Even the pedals with a 9 volt battery container and the sign "9 volt DC". When you look in their manuals it actually says 9 - 12 volt DC.

7. Are there any products that do not work with the FuelTank?
Answer: Yes, the Mojo Vibe: it uses an internal step-up circuit where 9V is altered to 18V - this causes a horrible noise on the ground. We suggest that the Mojo Vibe gets its own power supply.

We've also discovered that Lehle products need separate outputs (either 12V DC / 12V AC)in order to work with the FuelTank.

History
For a long time, a lot of people have been asking us to make it easy for them to run their pedals. One pedalboard - one power supply. And we have been struggling with this project very long. We testet a lot of transformers on the market, but none met our demands. We ended up developing a transformer ourselves - together with another danish company. So the FuelTank meets the demands for a modern power supply. No noise, lots of outputs, cables included, multiple mains volts.

Very good power supply, good for having lots of pedals and only one power supply. The only bad thing is that the outlets are not isolated, I see no real reason why they're not isolated. I know that the junior and the chameleon are isolated but if you want more outlets than they can give then you have to sacrifice isolation..

This seemed like a necessity to me! I'm currently running seven powered pedals on my effects board, so the thought of un-velcroing, opening up, checking and juggling seven batteries every other week didn't appeal.

The manual/booklet is not too comprehensive, but you don't need a great deal of instruction on a brick (a handsome brick) that has one power input, ten power outputs, and no buttons!

Comes with a decent bunch of power leads of various lengths, plus they've helpfully colour coded the leads and changed the socket sizes for the 12V DC and 12V AC power outputs to help prevent wiring accidents, which I much appreciate.

    Good stuff!

Great power supply! Silent, consistent, solid as a rock and looks good, what more could anyone want?

I'm only using it with a few pedals at the moment as I've just started to build up my collection but can't find any faults up to now. Would definitely buy again if it was lost or stolen.

This is a very small, good looking, simplistic power supply that powers up to 10 effects pedals!

Throughout my time searching for the perfect power supply I've found that, more often than not, they usually power 8 pedals so to find one from a reliable, established brand that accommodates 10 (including 2 x 12V pedals) was excellent.

The Fuel Tank comes with a selection of different length leads to power pedals wherever they may be on your pedal board. Some of the aforementioned leads have two different ends (I.e. a straight input and a right-angled) so you can choose which fitting you need depending on the space available to you - very convenient.

Only black mark? No instruction manual. Not that you really need it, it's all very straight forward.

A highly recommended, versatile power supply.

The item seems to be very durable. It is simple to get working and to use (which is handy as I'm not very technical) and I've not had any issues with it whatsoever. It is quite expensive but I was happy to pay that as I'm assuming it will last for a long time.
