Bose L1 Compact Amplification PA System
Bose L1 Compact Amplification PA System
The Bose L1 Compact is the latest addition to the excellent Bose L1 family. On the bigger Bose Model 1 & Model 2 systems, the bass bins are separate to the main speaker system, but in the L1 Compact the bass bin has been cleverly integrated into the stand. The L1 Compact is about half the power of the Model 1 & Model 2 system, but by using the excellent line array speaker technology, the L1 Compact system will still happily produce live music in small venue (typically up to a max of 100-150 people depending on the sort of noise you want to make!).
The line array technology used in all the Bose L1 systems ensures that the volume of the speaker doesn't drop off so much as you move further from the speaker. This means the overall volume of the system does not need to be that high to reach the back of the venue. The other advantage with the L1 systems is that you can stand in front of the speaker column, with your microphone & experience virtually zero feedback problems. So not only is the Bose L1 Compact the most portable system we know of, it also removes the need for separate stage monitoring too!
There are so many uses for the Bose L1 Compact. Whilst most people will use this as a small live PA system, it's also excellent as an acoustic guitar amp, a keyboard amp, an electronic drum amp*, and for presentations. (* please note that for electronic drums we would only recommend the L1 Compact as a home use or rehearsal amp). Because the L1 Compact can be set up at 3 different heights you can always have the speaker section exactly where you want it - floor level, waist level or head level. And with a simple 2 channel mixer (1 mic input + 1 guitar/line input) built into the stand, you may not need anything else to start using the Bose Compact L1 system!
We think the Bose L1 Compact looks great too - it really does look cool enough to have set up at home without being moaned at for making the place look untidy!
Super Portable - Great Sound - Easy to Use - Amazing Price. Nuff said!

Magazine reviews of the L1 Compact system
'..the L1 Compact is a no-brainer and is a very appealing purchase for any technophobe musician who requires affordability, portability, ease of use, reliability and amazing sound quality for small to intermediate size venues.'
Mark Tucker - Acoustic Magazine
'I liked the L1 Compact, I' m seriously thinking about buying a pair, and if you are in the market for a compact PA for smaller venues, I think you ought to get down to your local Bose dealer and take a long hard look at one.'
Bob Thomas - Performing Musician Magazine

It is really very easy to set up - and the sound level is incredible. I use it in conferences to play both recorded music and live music. The acoustic guitar sounds superb with the tone match switched on. It does what it says on the tin. A good buy.

I purchased a Bose L1 compact. It arrived very quickly in time for xmas day. It's an excellent piece of equipment. Thanks Ryan.

Simply does what they claim it does straight out of the packet! To date, I have run Pod XT (with Martin DM, Fender Tele-72, Ibanez AF75 and an old dobro) plus a senneheiser 85 and very impressed. Will do first gig over the next couple of weeks and report back. First impressions: easy setup, clean well spread sound, good response and easy to store/transport. I was initally worried about bass response but my backing tracks (as much as I hate them) sound great.
