I would love to give this 5 stars but there are too many niggles to justify it. I purchased this an an upgrade from my old Digitech RP12. I don't gig live but I do record/write at home. One of the biggest issues with this unit it that the sounds aren't in any specific order. True there are a lot of them (200)but they are placed randomly. On my old Digitech the banks were arrandged by genre (Metal, Acoustic, Blues etc which was much more user friendly.) On the GT 10 it is completely random which is annoying. You get 50 preset banks and 50 user banks which you can edit and store. You will have to do this if you want your sounds in any particular order. I've spent many hours sorting clean tones from distortion. You will also have to edit a lot of these sounds as they aren't exactly brilliant out of the box in most cases. The editing however is easy enough to do but you have to spend a long while crouching/sitting down with it to do so. Having spent a few hundred pounds on the unit I would of expected the experts at Boss to have programmed this better rather then having to spend my time doing it! The big drawback for myself is that I like playing in all styles. One thing this unit doesn't do well is metal. You can get a decent Metallica crunch out of it but nothing heavier. If your after a good saturated metal tone then look elsewhere. This pedal is pretty much aimed at live performers looking to program their pre-set sounds and change at the press of a foot switch (which is fair enough.)It will easily allow this but as long as your playing nothing heavier then the Foo Fighters/Metallica. On the plus side for the board, the wah is good and there are quite a lot of nice clean tones but they will require editing for taste. To sum up, it's good but could be improved by having banks by genre and an improved distortion Basically don't buy if your planning on playing thrash or djent. Do buy if you're a fan of editing your own tones and want a unit that can handle Radio 2 song cover versions.

The easiest part was unpacking and connecting. The fun part is playing using the different effects.

I am really pleased with it and found it easier to use than my previous unit.

The GT-10 gives you a massive range of effects in a single unit and allows you to control each one comprehensively, fully customisable effects chain order and a separate send/return for using any external pedals you may wish to add (although you aren't likely to need many!).

With this unit you can craft a huge range of sounds, it also supports midi, usb and stereo output so it's brilliant for live play, jamming and home recording.

Solid build quality, comprehensive user manual and more effects than you can shake a stick at make the GT-10 great value for any serious guitarist.

Well, what can I say, Im converted to Boss. I already own a JS-8 but bought this for home use as well - Multitude of settings and user tweaks available - going to take me a while to figure them all out but I did get it up and running within a couple of minutes without reading the manual. Im not that good a player, but this makes even me sound reasonable!

The Boss GT10 is an excellent multi effects pedal. I've recently upgraded from my Boss GT8 which I've had for around 5 or so years and has served me well.

This pedal can pretty much do anything. The first thing I noticed was that they have upgraded the Whammy/Pedal Bend effect which I thought was awful on the GT8. On the GT10 however it is quite good. I can now take out my Digitech whammy from my live set up and save a bit of space! It's still not quite as good as a Digitech though, but it's a good alternative. The other effects are spot on! All very tweakable to your own personal tastes.

The only bad thing I would say is that I found it a bit less user friendly than the GT8 to tweak. It seems like you have to go through more menus now to get to what was a single button access job on the GT8. I wouldn't put that down as a huge fault though as it can ultimately do more than the GT8.

All in all, a very good buy. Plus if you get it from Andertons you get a free lead! Can't grumble at that!

This piece of kit is truly awesome. It is so easy to use and there are so many options and sounds. I've used Boss stomp boxes for years but this takes everything to a new dimension. Whether you just play at home gig regularly or record I would highly recommend this unit.

Andertons blew me away with their good will and delivery.

As for the acquired GT10 itself, i love the quality but struggle with the variables (in relation to previous incarnations).

Thankyou for a refreshing honesty, and quality service.

Haven't had this long and so haven't been able to utilise all its facilities, although first impressions are very good. It is not as difficult to use as I thought, considering my old unit is a Boss BE-5 and is stone age in comparison. Programming sounds into the various banks is easy once you've done it a few times and there are a large number of good sounds built in. You can put the sounds in any order you like, and with four positions (switches) in each bank there is plenty of room to dedicate a whole bank to one song, if, said song has several different sounds in it.

As with any good unit, the device can also be by-passed if you want to play through the amp only.

Thats as far as I have got with the GT-10 and so far I am very impressed.

Only slight downside is that it is quite big and heavy and a decent quality carry case is a must, really.
