Who is JAM for?

JAM is great for beginners and advanced players who want a high quality guitar sound for practicing, recording, or just jamming on both iPad and Mac.

Ready to rock - Status and level indication

It's easy to tell if JAM is connected properly by the status LED on the top panel. If it's green, you are ready to rock and the light becomes your input level indicator. If it turns red, you are rocking too hard and you need to turn your gain down with the control knob

Crank it up and dial it in with easy level control

JAM features an input gain control knob. This rotary style wheel is conveniently located on the side of JAM for easy thumb access and allows you to dial in the level of your guitar without accessing software.

Easy Plug and Play connection to connect JAM to your iPad, iPhone or Mac

There's no difficult set up or configuration with JAM. Just plug in, open your favorite software and rock out.

Pretty good. Nice clear sound from the guitar. Haven't tried the iRig, so can't really compare.

Great product. I'm using it on my macbook with amplitube and on my ipad with ampkit. Best ipad interface I've tried and good on the macbook too.

Build quality is a little light weight, but passable.

Interestingly, with this you can even monitor with the ipads speakers at a pinch (whereas headphone socket interfaces prevent this). The sound quality is pretty dire though on my ipad 2.

n.b. does not currently work with the ipad amplitube.

Does exactly what I expected it to do, plugs into iPad a treat and the gain control is really useful. Now I have access to the whole range of fabulous amp sounds and effects in GarageBand. Obviously switching between them isn't as easy during a performance as having a foot switch but I can work around that and it's worth it just to hear those cool characteristics of some classic amps.

As it does what it claims to do impeccably it has to be five stars.

A fantastic product. Makes getting ideas down very quick and easy. Was surprised at just how good the quality is. Having a mini studio with me at all times now is a bonus

I placed an advance order for this product on 14 May with an ETA of 1 June. It eventually turned up on 3 July. The delay was apparently because Apogee held back the first shipment to the UK (due to teething problems according to the web)so not Andertons fault.

When the Jam arrived I discovered that it was very plasticky and felt cheap. But the important thing was the sound quality. Here, it lived up to the Apogee reputation, that is, until it stopped working unexpectedly. After plugging it back into my iPad the signal resumed but the device would periodically stop working for no reason. After a few days of putting up with this I decided to send it back for a refund.

The bottom line is that the Jam has good sound quality, is plug and play, but in my experience is unreliable and has poor build quality. Unfortunately I cannot recommmend.

Exactly what I expected - amazing sound quality - I hear its much better than what the iRig offers! No lag experienced so you can play along with tracks that you have already recorded (I use Garage Band) - where I had lag when I was plugging in an Alesis external sound card via USB adaptor (so bad).

Long time waiting on this to be delivered from the states but it was well worth the wait!
