The Kentucky KM-505 is high quality 8 string Mandolin that is priced for the amateur but spec'd for the professional! Solid flame maple back and sides look stunning and add a sparkle to the tone while the solid spruce top imparts the bulk of the mellowing tone and low end that balances out the brightness of the maple. A fantastic sounding and great looking Mandolin that will last for decades

Here's what Kentucky say about the KM-505

The Artist line of Kentucky mandolins has been expanded to include perhaps the best value in a professional quality A-Model mandolin. Every feature of the KM-505 was specifically chosen to meet not only the demands of the beginning player, but also the demanding requirements of working professionals. Fine solid spruce and solid flamed maples are hand-selected at this level to assure that every instrument looks as good as it sounds.

Vintage-style ebony bridge with small adjustment screws and traditional 2-screw truss rod cover plate.

Bone nut, highly polished nickel silver frets and high quality, gold-plated Gotoh tuners and gold-plated tailpiece with leather insert. Solid, handcarved and graduated select spruce top and solid, handcarved select highly flamed maple back and sides. Radiused ebony fingerboard with M.O.P. dot position markers and modern extension over the body. Bound rosewood peghead overlay with Kentucky script and "Mountain Rose" inlaid in pearl.

This KM-505 is a great little Mandolin from Kentucky. A very high quality instrument that equals other Mandolins at twice the price!

Bought this mandolin based on various reviews and I'm not disappointed! Great tone and playability and very well finished. The colour is a lot darker in 'real life' but, if anything, it looks even better! A brilliant mando at a great price...:)

Fantastic Mandolin, darker in colour than the stock photo as has been said but it's not a bad thing. The finishing is to a very high standard, feels and looks like a more expensive mandolin. The tone and volume of this thing is immense - I previously had a cheap stagg mandolin which to be fair, was a good introduction to the mandolin however due to tuning instability and poor tone I rarely played it and when I did it didn't really 'speak' to me. This Kentucky is Solid, beautiful and more importantly sounds amazing!
