Not just another vocal microphone, the TC Helicon MP-75 combines years of research with a cutting edge mentality to changing standards. The killer feature of the MP-75 is the mic control switch. This clever invention allows the singer to control their TC Helicon vocal effects right from the mic so you won't be tied down to the same spot on stage when you need to turn on your reverb or hardtune effect!

Here's what TC Helicon say about the MP-75

This is what every singer deserves: a microphone engineered for the sonic realities of modern vocal performance and simple one button control of TC-Helicon vocal effects. You'd expect nothing less from the only pro audio company 100% dedicated to the needs of singers.

Another microphone?

Does the world really need yet another vocal microphone? In our opinion no - it just needs one really good one. One designed for today - where the advent of singers using studio quality vocal processing on stage has transformed live vocal performance. Singers are demanding more control. The effects used by modern vocalists require off-axis noise rejection and frequency response that the majority of dynamic instrument microphones repurposed for singers just can't deliver. TC-Helicon MP-75 delivers.

Superior Vocal Tone

The proprietary Lismer capsule design uses a patented neodymium magnet structure for high output and uniform performance. The placement of the super-cardioid capsule provides best in class off-axis noise rejection and feedback suppression. In addition, a dual material diaphragm with light and rigid sections produces optimal high frequency response. If you're making use of the latest in vocal processing, this microphone can help give your sound that studio-produced edge.

Singers have the ultimate location for control right in their hands

On the microphone - that's where singers want to control their sound. This is what makes TC-Helicon unique among all the microphone brands on the market. You, the singer, are our customer and we take your input seriously. You've been unanimous in how you want to extend the control for your vocal effects. You want a simple way to creatively control your sound in performance without being tied to one place on the stage. Now, TC-Helicon's patent pending Mic-Control circuit allows simple, single button control of all of TC-Helicon's USB enabled vocal processors, including VoiceLive 2, VoiceLive Touch, VoiceTone Singles, Harmony-G XT, Create XT and Synth.

So what are you going to do with all this control?

When you're setup and singing with MP-75 and your USB enabled TC-Helicon vocal processor*, you'll have the freedom to move around the stage while controlling your vocal sound.

  • VoiceLive Touch & VoiceLive 2: remote control of the single button looper or any Shortcut in VoiceLive 2.
  • VoiceTone Harmony-G XT: turn your harmonies on and off for the verse or chorus.
  • VoiceTone Create XT: bypass the effects when it's time to talk to the audience.
  • VoiceTone Synth: add the HardTune or Vocoding effect on single words or phrases with ease.
  • VoiceTone Singles: chain the pedals together and set up Mic Control to turn HardTune and Doubling on and off - leaving your reverb and tone settings unchanged for example.

*may require free firmware update.

Designed for singers

TC-Helicon's modern performance vocal microphones are not a multi-purpose microphone. They are designed and voiced for the realities of live performance. Whereas many vocal microphones get their target frequency response several inches away from the capsule, MP-75 and its brother MP-70 are voiced for the close-up mic technique modern vocalists use. Singers also expect a rugged design built for live performance. MP-75 uses a special heat-treated and hardened steel windscreen grill to provide up to 10 times the durability of non-hardened grills.

I use the MP-75 Microphone with a VoiceTone Mic Mechanic. The added convenience of the MP-75's toggle switch is unparalleled and well worth considering. I find myself using the mic switch at least 90 percent of the time. If you already own a compatible VoiceTone pedal and also require a microphone, look no further.

A good quality mic with some nice proximity effect It does appear to reduce extraneous pick up of sound such as guitar as described. It is a little susceptible to popping however, as are most mics and the use of a mic shield would no doubt help. I have the Switch 3 so the single remote switch on the mic is somewhat redundant but I guess would be useful in a hand held vocal sutuation

    TC Helicon MP-75 Vocal Microphone

I've now started using the MP-75 in place of my SM58. To me it appears a little brighter so have had to adjust the 'top end' on the EQ slightly. It has a nice 'feel' and is comfortable to hand hold.

Switching from menus on the Harmony G XT is easy with the dedicated mic button.

Absolutely no complaints seeing as I got the MP-75 for free from Andertons when buying the TC Heliconn Harmony G XT

This mic was purchased as part of a package with a TC Helicon Harmony G-XT Voicetone pedal. The mic supplied was faulty but Andertons replaced this promptly and without fuss.

The mic appears to be of very good quality and has the advantage that it has a switch which allows the on/off switching of the harmony or FX functions of the Harmony G-XT.

Upon first impressions, the TC-Helicon MP75 felt like a professional microphone out of the box. When handling the mic it felt sturdy and well built.

For when not in use, a great padded case is provided to protect your investment. This was a much better offering than found with the Sure microphones, and made me confident in placing the MP75 in my gig bag with the rest of my equipment.

I was dubious about this microphone becoming a replacement for my usual Sure SM58 as a live mic. But the sound quality produced was on a par, if not better in some areas.

I noticed that compared to the SM58 the clarity of voice using the MP75 was improved but I preferred the response of proximity effect when using the Sure equivalent.

Overall; I really enjoyed using the MP75.

Good clear sounding responsive mic, I tried it against an SM58 beta and found it to be a little more bassy but otherwise it compared very well.

This is an excellent addition to any vocalists kit bag (assuming you use a PA of some kind). It's not cheap, but the harmony effects it creates are a delight to listen to.

The interface is a little "special" - it really could have done with a bigger display - or rather , a display that could show more information.

However, you don't really want to be using it that much during a performance, so you should just have your set programmed into your favourites.

Nice warm sounding well made microphone.Felt a little bit heavier than an average mic, due to its rugged construction. Having an on/off switch on the mic is an awesome feature for a vocalist, to be in total control of effects, harmony etc., while performing live on stage.

The control switch works with all TC Helicon voice products except with Harmony M. Hopefully there will be a way round it in the future. Since The MP 75 is a Dynamic mic, it can be connected from the most basic to advanced PA systems and you will not be disappointed.

I got this free with the Harmony G XT, As a singing guitarist the use of the button on the mic is wasted, I can only use my feet - but for a singer without an instrument the fact you can access the effects from the mic itself while freely roaming the stage is a massive plus. Excellent!
