Here's what Shure say about the PG48

  • An excellent performance microphone for spoken word applications.
  • Tailored frequency response is smooth and extended. Tuned specifically for vocal applications.
  • Cardioid polar pattern picks up the most sound from in front of the microphone and some sound from the sides. Less susceptible to feedback in high volume settings.
  • Dynamic cartridge has a simple, rugged coil. Handles extreme volume levels without distortion.
  • Cartridge includes a neodymium magnet for high output level.
  • Durable metal construction.
  • On/off switch for onstage control.
  • Steel mesh ball grille with integral "pop" filter reduces explosive breath sounds and wind noise

Excellent Microphone! I have used some of the lower numbered Shure mics in the past and can't really tell the difference to be honest, but Shure make outstanding microphones and this one is no different.

I use this for recording with a pop shield and sounds great, but this can also be used for playing live and also sounds great!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. A solid, robust microphone that's perfect for vocals. Our vocalist fronts a five-piece rock outfit doing "classic" covers and the Shure does the job perfectly. OK, for studio work or for more subtle stuff there might be better (more expensive) options but we need a rugged mic that can handle an over-excited singer and everything that comes out of his mouth (and that ain't always noise....)

Highly recommended for the price and the usual quality service from Andertons

Recently I ordered a Shure PG48 Mic. It arrived within 2 days and works brilliantly with the Vocalist Live 4. Great service. Thanks.

Great product and strong brand. Looking forward to many years of great use. Interestingly, my parent's first microphone was Shure over 30 years ago - that says a lot!
