    TC Helicon Harmony G XT.

Had it up and running straight from the box within minutes. Very easy to use and navigate through the menus. No need - yet - to personalise the settings, the pre-programmed set is more than enough for me.

    I am the Beatles/Simon & Garfunkel/Beach Boys :-)

An excellent piece of kit but be warned, not for lazy out-of-key singers - like I was prior to my purchase!

Initially I was dubious about the use of this pedal in our band's full lineup since we already have a backing singer. However, instead I found this pedal to be of great use.

The main reason I purchased this was for the dynamic compression and EQ included in the tone options. A much cheaper alternative existed within the TC-Helicon range (for £85), but I felt that having harmonies may be useful in my solo work.

The compression and EQ work very well; subtly (but noticeable) improving the tone of my amplified voice. For most of our set I now leave the tone features switched on.

The doubling feature works very well to boost the thickness of the vocals.

The harmony features (the main reason you would buy this unit) can be a bit tricky to sound natural at times. But with a bit of adjustment, picking the right harmonies for the song and adjusting the level, I have found this to add some great textures and colour to songs.

As mentioned, we already have a backing singer, but by producing harmonies separately. It allows us to use the vocals as an additional instrument whilst layering lyrics on top.

All in all, a very good buy.

Great little unit, easy to program adds a touch of polish to a vocal performance. Quality and tracking on vocal harmonies is surprisingly good.

I'm still getting to grips with this, but right out of the box it sounds great. If you're a gigging musician and need some backing vocals to create a bigger and more professional sound this is for you .. especially if, like my band mates, they're shy of the mic. Excellent vocal premap, and the reverbs are excellent too.

I've had this pedal for a few weeks now and i'm amazed by how much stuff you can do with it, if you are a solo artist or in a band as a single singer you have to get this pedal it will fill out your songs and give that little bit more of an edge.

I bought this as a very quick last minute replacement for my old Harmony G recently, the power adaptor broke on the old one so thought I'd upgrade to the new XT. There are more features on the new model, and it sounds just as good.

If you want harmonies and don't have anyone else to sing then this is a must. So many times I've had people question me about it after gigs, a really good bit of kit.

The TC Helicon Voice Tone Harmony G XT is a vocal efx processor and harmony generator in one unit. It is laid out in a "stomp pedal" type format and is simple to use and robust. The vocal processing ( compression, eq, de-essing) is achieved automatically by use of the "Adaptive Tone" feature. This is REALLY good, providing a first class sounding vocal without the need to use a lot of outboard equipment; the fact that it adjusts to the input vocal without any need for user input is genius, and this feature alone is worth the purchase price. The effects are the usual reverb delay types and are perhaps a little limited, but in reality provide all that is required. The harmony generator is one of the best I've heard providing smooth natural sounding harmony at the press of a foot switch. The key is set by routing a guitar through the pedal. The guitar can use the reverb/delay that is set to the vocal channel, or route "thru" the pedal as a dry signal to amp or other efx. The operation of the unit is via 10 presets, which can be configured by the user set up in a 1A - 1B, 2A - 2B etc format. For practical live use, setting the unit so that the presets are sequential for the song is easy. For example start on 1A, move to 1B plus Harmony for chorus, back to 1A plus Harmony for the bridge, 1A for verse.. to chorus as before...A little practice will make it very easy. A CD is provided and the online support is very good with tutorials, updates and downloadable presets. Some edit functions are available, and even pitch correction can be added along with a vocal double channel. (Note that the vocal double only works with the harmony function on.) In summary, a brilliant piece of kit for a live vocalist/guitarist that could also easily be used for studio work; it sounds that good. Great value for money, excellent service too.

This little gem produces natural harmonies withh added extras such as voice doubling, effects, tuner and tone, after just a short trial of this gem I don't think I'd like to gig without it.
