A Squier is, surely, just a poor man’s Fender, right? Nobody is going to believe that I bought a Squier Telecaster because of the fantastic reviews it had received, are they?
I’ve always wanted to get my hands on the Fender version but, already owning a genuine Strat, I was reluctant to dig too deeply into my pockets to my avail myself of its older brother. Having done my research, all of which gave the Squier Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster a big thumbs up, the final clincher to go for it was the video review by Andertons’ Capt’n and Chappers.
Okay, so here’s the thing. Quite aside from its robust build and classic body shape, this guitar is an absolute joy to play and has become my preferred axe of choice over the several that I own, which includes a Fender Strat. It has a neck which takes the challenge out of the most difficult of chords and an action that will have you gliding over the board quicker than a very quick thing. It has an authentic, rich tonal quality and can be made to sound good in any musical style. Quite simply, an absolute delight.
So, to any doubters out there, go grab yourself one and see for yourself; if you like playing electric guitar, you’re going to love this Squier Tele.
Thank you Andertons for introducing me to this delightful instrument and for your usual efficient service in making it available to me. One big box ticked and now I can move on to the next item on my “Musical Equipment I Must Own Before I Die” bucket list.
