Got this pedal included with a Yamaha DTX 530 kit.

The pedal clamp is OK to fix to the Yamaha kick drum unit but over-tightening it would damage the kick drum plate which has raised fixing holes. Mine is tighened enough to clamp onto the plate but will come apart if moved. I think this might be down to Yamaha design and them wanting you to buy their pedal which I guess would meet up perfectly. No huge problem as the kick drum has velro on the base to hold it in place on carpet and the pedal has some spikes that hold in place when being played.

The pedal is of solid contruction and be fully adjusted - make sure you have a drum key to do this as one is NOT supplied with pedal.

Only other thing I've noticed is the foot pedal has some lateral/sideways movement where it joins the heel plate. I found this can make the pedal feel a little sloppy when your thumping away. Otherwise the pedal does the job.

Since I have only started druming recently I cannot write too much on this pedal because I do not know others to compare it with. All I can say is that it produces a clear sound, is well made, solid and comfortable to use. I like it and will do me just fine.

I received this pedal free when it came in a package with a Roland TD9KX purchase, which I was advised as being the right choice of kit for the serious professional player.

That being the case, I was disappointed that this pedal would be sent out with a 'professional' kit.

It's a pedal that would be ideal for a beginner for a price of £30 but I would never expect a serious player to buy it, so why send it as part of a 'professional' package?

This pedal came free when I bought a Roland V-drums kit and has been a great bit of equipment. I'm sure if you have a lot more money to spend you can get something better, but for the price this is perfect.
