Stagg KTC150

Having a larger keyboard can be difficult - you have to move it around for gigs but a flight case is so heavy, enormous and expensive that it's out of the question. The Stagg KTC150 solves the problem - a good amount of adjustable padding, a hard, reinforced base with protective plywood sides, heavy duty stitching, large music pocket retractable handle and wheels make it great for transporting, and great for your wallet too!

Useful for transporting my keyboard about in. The keyboard is smaller than the case but the padding provided is great at protecting the keyboard and I can get the stand and all accessories in as well. Only cons would be: it adds a bit of extra weight, and doesn't always stay free standing on it's own - I would always leave it on it's side rather than vertical using the provided stand.

I think this case has fantastic space with lots of compartments to put those extra gadgets you need for live gigging in! I think it could be a little more robust in the material it's made from, but am yet to test it out fully. I think it will be good enough.

This case is very good value for money, considering its sturdy build and solid construction. Some of the features that enhance its portability are the sliders on the bottom (helps getting it up stairs), the pull-out stand (if you want to stand it on its end) and the solid wheels. The case weighs enough on its own, and once you've put an 88-key keyboard inside, it is seriously heavy, so just be prepared for that. However, the case makes it easy to transport your keyboard safely and securely and gives you space for leads, pedals, music, and anything else you might need, in a generously sized front pocket. Inside, the padding ensures your keyboard is undamaged, and it features adjustable padding blocks and strips to customise the case for the exact size and shape of your keyboard. All in all, a great case, and very good value.

Overall, I would recommend this case to anyone with a full size keyboard that they need to move around regularly.

As a bit of a cross between a soft case and a hard case it gives you many of the benefits of a hard case, offering a lot of protection and padding to your precious instrument, whilst at the same time not being in itself quite as heavy to move around as a hard case would be. Being a girl, for me the wheels are also an added bonus, meaning that lugging a full size keyboard/digital piano around to weekly rehearsals and gigs is no longer an arm-breaking experience !

The only slight negative comments I would have would be about the maneuverability and the wearability:

    - being quite a large case (with the wheels) it isn't the easiest of beasts to move around sharp corners. However, once you get used to it, despite this awkward-ness I think it still does work out as easier than a soft-case in terms of ease of moving a keyboard from one place to another. Also, the additional size does also mean that it's worth just checking that the case will actually fit in your car ! (The wonderful Andertons staff helped me to check this and it did fit in my car - just !)

    - I guess all instrument cases when under heavy use are going to wear, however I was slightly disappointed that after only 2 months of use (and all that money!) both zips are already broken on my case, meaning that it has become quite a mission to get my keyboard in and out. However, this may be something to do with my particular case so don't let it put you off from trying the case out, as overall, it is really useful !
