Stylish and economical

Compact, unobtrusive, and designed for the modern world, the SP-170S Digital Piano solidly delivers the essential elements of a piano: rich, vibrant sounds and an authentic grand piano feel. Styled to mimic an acoustic piano, the SP-170S boasts a simple and clean design which eliminates the need for a control panel. In place of knobs, buttons and switches, the SP-170S relies on the keys themselves to perform these functions. The built-in stereo sound system features two efficient speakers housed in a bass reflex enclosure to deliver powerful sound. You can choose from two colors - chic black and elegant white - to match the decor of any room. The SP-170S is also lightweight and easy to transport, making it an ideal choice for concerts or live use.

Ten exquisite new sounds, highlighted by an exhilarating grand piano

The SP-170S features a duo of concert grand piano sounds, each lavishly recorded with meticulous care. Multiple velocity layers are used to capture nuances of playing dynamics, allowing the instrument to respond expressively to every delicate touch. In addition, sounds such as electric piano, harpsichord, and organ are also provided, delivering a total of ten premium sounds at your fingertips.

Faithfully reproduces an acoustic piano touch and feel

Our new Natural Weighted Hammer Action (NH) keyboard is accurately weighted like a traditional piano, with a heavier touch in the lower ranges and becoming progressively lighter in the higher registers. Three levels of Key Touch Control allow the keyboard response to be matched to nearly any playing style, preserving all of the subtle expression of the original performance.

Self-contained sound system

Inside the compact SP-170S is a full stereo sound system. The clean-sounding stereo amplifier feeds power to a pair of full-range oval speakers. The speakers are housed in an internal bass-reflex cabinet, resulting is a well-defined, robust, and dynamic sound.

Reverb and Chorus effects

Individually selectable Reverb and Chorus effects add an extra dimension to the SP-170S's sound. The Reverb provides a lush spaciousness. The Chorus effect adds motion and warmth to the sound.

Dual headphone outputs

The rear panel provides two headphone jacks, allowing two people to enjoy the sound simultaneously. This is ideal for playing duets or sharing songs with a friend; in addition, parent and child or student and teacher can share a lesson with complete privacy. These same outputs can be used to connect the SP-170S to a digital recorder or an external amplifier.

Lovely piano, keys feel nice. 10 sounds is enough for me. Sounds great, especially for price. Only slight negative is no display, but knew this when brought it. And a great overall product for price so happy with it

    Alan | Purchase date: 13 December 2012

Korg and Andertons are two names I have come to trust. I wasn't disappointed. Great product and great service.

    Kevin | Purchase date: 20 November 2012

Awesome electronic piano that is extremely true to it's acoustic brethren. The tactile sensation is great, the whole thing looks amazing, and the sound is really convincing. Well worth the money.

    Kevin | Purchase date: 19 November 2012

Great piano with an excellent sound, and the inclusion of a free stand was a bargain. Delivery was very prompt as well as free and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It really has a lot of power considering the price, and after having looked at various pianos and keyboards in this price range, the SP170 definitely comes out on top.

Excellent sound quality and touch for a beginner, or more correctly a returner to piano after more than 50 years!

    Kathryn | Purchase date: 20 July 2012

Very pleased with the key board, everything we wanted and more

    Paul | Purchase date: 24 March 2012

great keyboard, lovely feel and sound

    Jennifer | Purchase date: 19 March 2012

I am very happy with this product. It was recommended to me by my sister who has an MA in Music performance and who generally prefers to play a normal piano with a big sound! However, when gigging she has chosen this one - so I therefore went on her opinion and I have to say I'm very happy with it. Korg are a trusted brand and with 88 notes this digital piano certainly offers a great range both for the beginner and more advanced player.

    Emma | Purchase date: 01 November 2011

An excellent digital piano for a great price. Plenty of additional features (most of which I don't use to be hoenst) and easy to use.

    Barry | Purchase date: 30 August 2011

Great keyboard. Already play a Korg SP 250 keyboard with a band elsewhere. Bought the SP 170S instrument primarily for home use (song writing, practice etc.), but wanted a keyboard which would be easily transportable. It meets both these situations perfectly. The SP170S has an excellent range of sounds and good touch sensitivity. Highly recommended.

I'm really very pleased with this instrument. I know the old adage about 'you get what you pay for' but having played a lot of digital pianos in local shops, and blenched at the price-tags, I thought I was taking a bit of a chance with the SP-170 at such a low price. Well, I have to say it compares favourably with any of the better-known instruments I looked at locally, and it looks good too. Anderton's confidently promised next-day free delivery, and frankly I took the 'next day' bit with a pinch of salt, but but sure enough it arrived here in Deepest Cornwall the following afternoon after ordering. So all in all, a very happy buying experience, makes a change these days.

Fantastic product, fantastic price and fantastic service. Absolutely thrilled, thank you!

Mr. Martin Webb | Purchase date: 06 March 2011

Amazing value for money for a "proper electonic piano" good feel and lovely sound (in fact all of the included voices are great). Love the way that the functions are hidden as special functions of the piano keys so there are no buttons to spoil the look of it.

Stephen Hart | Purchase date: 20 November 2010

I am very pleased with this product. It makes a lovely sound, and the pedal adds a great resonance. The black model also looks stylish and appealing. A great purchase.

Mr Simon Gomer | Purchase date: 25 April 2010

A fantastic entry level digital piano, with the feel and sounds of a real piano without the hefty price tag. Each of the 10 voices are high quality, especially the two Piano voices. Touch sensitivity is a must on any digital piano, and on this model it works very well. The sensitivity can be adjusted to suit light or heavy hands. It’s sleek minimal design also makes it look like a serious instrument, and as you might expect with a Korg, its build quality is very good.
