Line 6 XD V70 Microphone & Transmitter

Representing the future of wireless technology, Line 6's Relay XDV70 systems not only provide crystal clear digital sound, but they are impervious to RF interference and operate flawlessly in environments with high amounts of RF activity.

The V70 Mic itself has a 6 way switch to select between models of the world's most popular vocal mics so you can choose the best mic for the application. You can go a step further and use the capsule of your choice in the XD-V70 Mic thanks to the easily-replaceable assembly.

Here's what Line 6 Say about the Relay V70

These new groundbreaking digital wireless microphone systems provide unmatched wireless performance, uncompromising sound and uncomplicated operation worldwide.

Digital wireless is better.

Line 6 XD-V70 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System can do what analog wireless systems can't. It delivers unmatched wireless performance, simplicity, and sound on every stage around the world - license free.

Line 6 digital wireless technology won numerous awards when it debuted in 2008. It proved that ancient analog wireless technology wasn't the only option. Now in its 4th generation, Line 6 digital wireless technology is leaner, meaner and setting the standard for all digital wireless systems.

Unmatched wireless performance.

XD-V70 keeps you on the air longer with less to worry about. Exclusive digital technologies ensure against all types of audio interference. XD-V70 offers frequency diversity, which incorporates a hybrid frequency-hopping spread-spectrum practice. This results in thoroughly reliable operation - even in hostile RF environments.

Broadcasting in the 2.4GHz band successfully avoids interference caused by TV stations, public safety broadcasts, cell phone towers, and other high-powered sources. Plus, it enables XD-V70 to broadcast around the world without a license.

Unmatched simplicity.

Simply power up, pick a channel, and go. Analog wireless systems are notorious for making their users jump through hoops during setup and operation. XD-V70 offers the opposite: zero required adjustments, and nothing standing in the way of you and your performance.

No more show-stopping dead batteries. Get eight hours of constant usage from two AA alkaline batteries. Battery life data is monitored via clear, easy-to-read meters on the transmitter and receiver.

Unmatched sound.

XD-V70 delivers clear, pure and responsive vocal reproduction. And it does so throughout its entire 100-meter/300-foot range. (Unlike with an analog wireless system, XD-V70's audio doesn't degrade with distance.)

  • Full-range 10 Hz-20 kHz (-2 dB) wireless transmission
  • Wide 115dB dynamic range (A weighted)
  • Superior transient response
  • 24-bit digital conversion

Recognized as the world leader in digital modeling technology, Line 6 has outfitted XD-V70 with a variety of accurate microphone models. These models enable XD-V70 to take on the sonic characteristics of six popular microphones. Via a button on the microphone shaft, you can chose from presets based on* a Shure SM58, Shure Beta 87A, Sennheiser e 835, Audio-Technica AE4100, Audix OM5, and Electro-Voice N/D767.

An original Line 6 microphone model, L6-DC7, features the best sonic qualities of the other six models. It has the sparkle associated with condenser mics, the ruggedness and high dynamic range of dynamic mics, and plenty of responsiveness to cut through the mix.

This modeling advantage makes XD-V70 the perfect match for any vocalist or vocal application.

Line 6 XD-70 Digital Wireless Microphone

I am a semi pro singer for a function covers band and have used many wireless mics over a 16 year period of performing.

Ok, so I have been in the market for a new wireless mic for a while as I have never really been happy with my other radio mics. This is normally because I have been looking for that wired sound from a wireless microphone…and just haven’t found it from my AKG and Shure mics.

I normally use a 58 beta for my main vocal mic and any wireless microphone will have a huge job trying to compete with the wired 58 beta mic. I was also slightly worried about all the bad news regarding the Government selling off the analogue frequencies in the near future.

I had been curious and intrigued by the media hype surrounding the new Line 6 XD -70 digital wireless mics for a while and I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase a microphone from Line 6! …….I was so wrong.

This is the best microphone I have ever used by a huge stretch. It was plug and play in regards to initial set up and it comes with pre programmed microphone models of classic microphones including the beta 58. The mic modelling is very good and I guess if you were a sound engineer, it would be a dream for all the different types of singers you would deal with every day.

My favourite has to be the L6 preset which apparently takes all the good characteristics from each of the other mics and combines them in to a super preset.

It’s a smooth warm tone that allows all characteristics and range of my own voice shine through.

I have got to say that I have not experience any cutting out or blind spots as of yet, and I do tend to go walkies within gigs.

In regards to the durability of the system….its built like a tank. From the microphone (that feels like it should cost a lot more than it does)…to the receiver.

My only gripe about the wireless set up was the fact it did not come with a full system carry case. I purchase a Gator case in the end, but Line 6 need to think about this - especially when you are investing nearly £500!

This is a great microphone system and you will not be disappointed if you make the decision to purchase!
