Line 6 Relay G50 Digital Wireless Guitar System
The Line 6 Relay G50 is the Relay G30's bigger Brother. The G30 has a plastic case, 6 possible channels and 100 ft effective range. This system - the G50 - has a metal case, 12 channels and up to 200ft range making this unit more rugged and more versatile; better suited to a musician who is touring and gigging regularly. If you're on a budget and you don't need tour grade casing or more than 6 channels - check out the Relay G30.
Superior Sound - The Line 6 Relay G50 provides a pure signal. Its clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Instead of being transmitted as analog waves, which are prone to degradation and loss, the signal is converted to digital data at the transmitter and back to audio at the receiver. The result is no signal degradation and no loss of either high or low frequencies.
This model has 12 possible channels and a range of 200 ft - definitely enough for most gigs!
Here's what Line 6 say about the Relay G50
Relay digital guitar wireless systems redefine the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists. They deliver wired tone, uncompromising dependability and refreshingly simple operation like no other wireless systems can. And they can do it on every stage around the world.
Relay digital wireless systems take your guitar tone as seriously as you do. Their superior specs, exclusive technologies and modern designs deliver the tone you've always wanted to hear from a wireless system: yours.
Exclusive VWT (Virtual Wire Transmission) technology ensures full-range frequency response, excellent transient response, and wide dynamic range - just like a high-quality guitar cable.
Relay digital wireless systems produce full-range tones with 10Hz-20kHz frequency response, exceedingly low noise with up to 120dB dynamic range, and studio-quality resolution with 24-bit A/D conversion. (Comparably priced analog wireless systems offer 50Hz-15kHz frequency response and >90dB dynamic range. This wreaks havoc on your tone, especially if you use a high-gain amp.)
Cable tone simulation.
Using a cable and a wireless system? Now you can switch back and forth without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. Relay digital wireless systems feature a Cable Tone Simulator, which lets you match the sound of your Relay to the sound of your cable.
Companders squash your signal and ruin your tone. Analog wireless systems require companders but Relay wireless systems do not. Remaining compander-free enables Relay to deliver a beautiful high-end sparkle, thunderous low-end punch, and touch response that analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver.

I've only used it a few times so far but I'm very impressed by it. I've experienced no drop outs and the quality is excellent - I can't tell the difference between wireless and a cable (Music Man/Fender into a Two Rock). I'm looking forward to using during the summer festival season!

Compared to previous wireless systems I have used this sounds really clear and fine.I can now annoy audiences again wandering round the venues!!!

This is great, I've had experience of wireless before and this made me cautious, 100

This was my first foray into wireless, and after reading up about it I decided to buy this unit in particular. However, when I received it, the first thing I noticed was that it added a hell of a lot of noise - mainly hissing - into my signal! We're not talking a little bit, we're talking stupid amounts. I've tried all sorts to correct it, but it's the transmitter that's the issue, and even on a clean channel the issue persists.
I have a noise gate, but it still affects the tone - I'm hoping it's a defective unit (emailed Andertons and Line 6), but for now I have to give it a poor rating as its pretty much unusable :(

My son's band ,Samsara, used the Line 6 relay G50 digital wireless guitar system for the first time at Club 85 last night.(26/7/12). It allowed my son complete freedom around the stage and there were no feedback problems. The only minor problem was that he did not attach it properly to his guitar strap and he had to put it in his pocket for most of the gig.

This is amazing! really easy to use, no searching through channels to find a clear one. just plug and play. The cable tone is a great feature as well. without it the digital tone sounds awful!! i stick mine at 15m and it sounds sweet. Battery life seems good, and you get a battery display so you dont have to change the batteries after every use in fear that they will run out mid-gig.

An excellent product. Having tried 3 different digital systems I concluded this was the best for me. The frequency response means no percievable loss of low end (I play a 5 string bass) and latencyis not a problem. A particular plus point is the excellent battery indication - the transmitter shows remaining life to the nearest 20 mins and the receiver repeats this as a series of lights easily checked on stage.
In short I would happily recommend this product to other bassists. I have used this on several gigs now without any problems.

I've used analog wireless units in my career including Audio Technica ATV R-3100 (£400) and Samson AG1 (£250) both bought in 2005. These systems were great but used to reduce the natural sustain of the guitar and compressed the signal far too much.
They also used to eat the batteries and with the sale of the analog frequencies I reluctantly stopped using wireless units and my act suffered significantly.
After 18 months of gigging with a lead and becoming frustrated with the limitations, I visited the Andertons store and asked for some help. The friendly member of staff suggested I try the Line 6 range in store and the G50 was well within my budget..
As soon as I plugged the guitar in, the difference was astonishing!
The clarity was breathtaking, there was no hiss, no loss of sustain and no interference; it was just like a lead but with the freedom of the stage! The batteries last a few hours too!
All my problems were solved and my dreams were answered so I have now purchased one for all the guitarists in my band.
PS One of the G50s was provided with the wrong power supply but Andertons were more than happy to refund me fully. So make sure you check the packaging before you leave the shop!

The Line 6 G50 is an outstanding piece of equipment.
It's extremely straight forward and easy to use, and it has cleaned my tone up alot too. Although if you are happy with the sound you have you can simulate the sound you'd get through a cable using the G50 anyway.
Definite 5 stars from me, best purchase I've made in a long time.
