The Marshall JMP1 50th Anniversary Head is a Limited Edition 1w valve amp based on Marshall's JMP series amps that defined a generation (the 1970s!). The period correct details include the beautiful styling and simple controls of just Volume, Bass and Treble (still no master volume in sight!)
The tone is astoundingly close to the JMP amps and we'll forgive you for immmediately and insatiably playing AC/DC's Back in Black and Highway to Hell. A gain boost switch on back of the amp allows you to go from Malcolm to Angus (that's from crunchy rhythm to searing leads) and a 1w/0.1w switch means you can get ear splitting gain at a volume that won't disturb the neighbours!
This Head Version has 8 & 16 Ohm Speaker Outputs
Matching JMP cabs now available! Marshall have announced that they are also making special edition 1936V and 1960AV cabinets with the JMP1 Head. These cabs complete the vintage look of the Marshall 50th Anniversary heads
Here's what Marshall say about the JMP1
To reflect the second decade of business, and a decade that will forever be remembered for its impact on rock music, the JMP1 is completely reminiscent of 1970's Marshall Era amplifiers, most notably the JMP. Featuring a tone that has more gain than the previous JTM1 along with its own unique preamp structure and rear panel gain boost switch, the JMP1 is ideal for everything from big rhythm to searing lead for fans of 1970's rock.
Although each of the five amplifiers within the 50th Anniversary One Watt range are unique, the series also have some common features; they are all made with pride at our UK factory, and will only be so during 2012 making these amplifiers limited edition. Each model will be available as both a one watt combo incorporating an 8" or 10" Celestion speaker (varying from model to model), and a one watt head. Other common features include 8 and 16 ohm speaker outputs on the heads and combos, era correct cosmetic details, a commemorative rear panel plaque, and a unique low power switch on each of the units' rear panels, allowing you to instantly take the power from 1 watt to 0.1 watt for the ultimate Marshall bedroom volume
