The Orange #4 Jim Root is the signature head of Slipknot/Stonesour guitarist Jim Root (known in Slipknot as #4). Specially voiced for Root's brutal tone the #4 Jim Root features Volume, Gain and three band EQ as well as a tube driven FX loop (one of the only drawbacks of the original Tiny Terror was lack of an FX loop). As with other terrors a switch allows halving the output for higher gain at lower volume.

Those familiar with the Tiny Terror, Dual Terror and Dark Terror will recognise the portability and sleek look of the small metal Chassis that houses this 15w tube amplifier. The Jim Root Signature #4 amp is largely based upon the dirty channel of the Orange Rockerverb amplifier - a sound which will be familiar to Slipknot and Stone Sour Fans.

The Signature #4, being a small-format tube amplifier, is well suited to rehearsals and small-medium gigs. Features include...

  • Volume, Gain, Bass, Mid and Treble Controls
  • 12AT7-Driven FX Loop
  • 1 x 16 Ohm and 2 x 8 Ohm Outputs
  • Switchable Between 15/7 Watts

On the name - Signature #4 - Jim Root commented on Orange's official press release: "With this amp, simply giving it the number I use in Slipknot seemed logical. I've not been to apt to splash either band logo or artwork all over things, but this will be the beginning of the end of that maybe"

The best head I've ever used, and incredible gain

A cracking little amp that packs one hell of a punch, delivers everything from vintage fuzz to screaming gain. only one channel of course but what can be expected at such a low price tag? Even then it blows alot of more expensive amps away. And yes it can easily keep up with a full band at practice and on stage, it can hold it's own against a peavey xxx which is a 120 watt head... enough said lol. For £439 you would be a fool not to try it.

Don't let the small size fool you this thing is a monster! I was trying out a few other amps in shop and was shown this as a last minute thing for a laugh....It blew my socks clean off! One of the best gain sounds i have heard in ages and i have tried every kind of amp you can think of. Some people might be put off by the small size and the fact that it is single channel but i got over the size and i use a volume pedal so it is no problem for me. Kudos to Orange.
