What does this mean?
The essential amp for all POD HD owners - the Line 6 DT25 puts the amazing technology of the DT50 into a mid-powered package ideal for gigging and jamming. Watch our *exclusive* Line 6 DT25 Video below!
N.B. Cabinet is not included
The new Line 6 DT25 amplifier takes inspiration from its bigger brother - the DT50 - and combines a convenient medium-power-output amp with the pinnacle of Line 6 amp technology to produce an amp that is versatile enough to allow you to switch between amp circuits found in some of the world's most revered amp designs. The DT25, co-designed by Reinhold Bogner, will adapt to the sound you need; American or British, vintage or modern. The result is an amp that will take you from classic rock to modern metal in the flick of a switch - an invaluable tool for session musicians, recording artists and guitarists with diverse musical tastes.
Combine the DT25 with a POD HD and you get even more out of this awesome amp. By configuring presets on the POD, including amp and cab settings and pretty much any effects chain you can imagine, you can switch between any two rigs at the press of a footswitch! Imagine being able to go from a Big American clean with modulation effects, to a raucous British hi-gain tone with a wah pedal at the ready - all with one switch. That is what the DT25 and POD combination will help you achieve.
The Line 6 DT25 is an amazing amp in its own right with big bell like cleans and the ability to produce high quality drive sounds at reasonable volumes. When you start to explore the options you have with regards to switching and combining the different circuits in the DT25, you will realise the potential of this amp. Add a POD HD into the mix and the possibilities of the DT25 are practically limitless!
DTV2 Software Update
The DTV2 Software update for Line 6 amps is now available! This version 2.0 firmware update gives Line 6 DT amp users 30 HD preamps (there were 4) and 12 new reverbs. It is a free download from this link so it's well worth getting if you have or are planning to buy a DT amplifier.
Here's what Line 6 say about the DT25 Head
If your tone is your masterpiece, DT25 is your paintbrush. This portable 25W/10W tube amp from Line 6 and tube-amp guru Reinhold Bogner gives you four stunning, lust-worthy amp voicings and unprecedented versatility that lay the foundation for you to build your perfect tone.
The powerful combination of reconfigurable analog components and HD modeling allows the DT25 amp to be four boutique tube amps in one capable of producing stunning American cleans, British crunch, class A chime and modern high-gain. Selectable operating class, power tube mode and four Voicings (which offer the perfect combinations of negative feedback loop topology, and HD preamp and tone stack modeling) can dial in classic vintage tones or be shaped into highly customized originals - and each one drips with boutique tone and touch-response.
The DT25 amp gets to the point. It's a simple, two-channel amp with a streamlined front panel. But if you connect a POD HD multi-effect pedal or POD HD Pro multi-effect rack to this little monster the two integrate to become a boutique tube amp factory!
Connected via exclusive L6 LINK technology, the DT25 amp and POD multi-effect rewrite the traditional amp/multi-effect paradigm and introduce powerful new concepts in control and customization. Add effects, additional amp voicings, foot control and instant scalability (including stereo operation with multiple DT25 amplifiers). DT25 is the perfect pairing for POD HD multi-effects. The days of plugging a POD into the front of an amp are over!
Revolutionary Bogner tube design meets Line 6 HD modeling
The Voicing switch is the heart of DT25 amp. It conjures the characteristic tone, feel and response that are at the heart of four celebrated amp voicings: American clean, British crunch, class A chime and modern high-gain. Different negative feedback loop topologies pair with HD preamp and tone stack modeling to produce the perfect tonal springboards for you to craft your perfect tones.
- Voicing I: Classic American Clean (tight negative feedback loop)
- Voicing II: British Crunch (medium negative feedback loop)
- Voicing III: Class A Chime (zero negative feedback loop)
- Voicing IV: Modern, High-Gain (resonant negative feedback loop)
Selectable operating class and power tube mode
Take your tone in many different directions with the selectable operating classes and power tube modes. Mix and match them with the Voicing switch to dial in truly unique tones. Or align the components in tried-and-true combinations to deliver fresh takes on the immortal classics.
- Selectable operating classes - Class AB/25 watts/fixed bias; Class A/10 watts/cathode biased
- Selectable power tube modes - Pentode; Triode
Any two amps you want, separated by a single channel switch
The two channels can be set to any combination of Voicing, operating class and power tube mode, so the channel switch is more like an A/B switch connected to two different amps. (Or, for a boost channel, set the channels the same with one a little louder.)
For example, set Channel A to a California clean tone. It can be complete with a high amount of negative feedback for a tight sound, characteristic class AB headroom and plenty of pentode-powered body. Set Channel B to deliver vintage Class A chime with zero negative feedback for an open, dynamic feel. Triode mode darkens the tone a bit and rounds off the edges, and Class A operation provides no shortage of touch sensitivity when you dig in with your pick. That's total analog and digital reconfiguration in one touch.
DT25 amplifier + POD HD multi-effect = Boutique tube amp factory
DT25 amplifiers and POD HD multi-effects don't just connect, they seamlessly integrate to transform into a boutique tube amp factory capable of creating any tone you need with incredible tone and feel. POD HD multi-effects come to the party with additional models including 20+ HD amp models, 20+ HD guitar preamp-only models, huge collections of effects, cabs, mics and more. With a single L6 LINK connection, you get:
Automatic analog configuration. Select a POD HD amp model or preset and the DT25 analog components will automatically configure themselves to the appropriate operating class, biasing method, negative feedback topology and power tube mode.
Save custom analog configurations. Saving your custom DT25 configurations is as easy as saving POD HD presets. Tweak the DT25 amp settings, press Save on the POD HD multi-effect and incredibly unique and complex amp configurations can be recalled instantly.
No ground loops. You'll never get ground loop hum from an L6 LINK connection!

A fantastic amp. Lots of ways of configuring the value stages to get the sounds you want. Really easy to use. Great sound. Really pleased with it and I've been through a few amps! Quality bit of kit with sound to match.

I chose this amp after two visits to Andertons. The staff were very helpful and I tried 4 different amps.
The DT25 is a well made head with plenty of features. The layout is familiar to anyone who has used an amp before. I was very impressed by the tone of the amp amd was quickly able to dial in an excellent american clean and high gain rock sound. The power class and pent/triod modes are very useful in finding a pleasing tone. The low power mode was also excellent for quiet practice.
At this point I would have given the amp 5 stars. The reason I tried the DT25 was because of the good reviews about how versatile it is and the release of the V2.0 software gives even more amp options, so I checked the manual and upgraded. All that happened was the "monkey" software changed my software version to an unknown version type and came up with a 8000000a error. This left the amp non functional, some lights would come on but no sound came out. Line 6 support was of limited help and I could not resolve the problem. Due to this I returned the amp, andertons were very helpful and offered a refund or replacement.
I would have kept it but the software fault rendered it useless. A nice amp but unreliable software is unacceptable. I can only recommend you ensure it comes with the v2.0 software or upgrade within the warrenty period (or stick with V1.0, it was very good.

Great tone, sounds just like a "normal" tube amp but with the versatility of a POD studio, or simlilar computer interface. Looks great, sounds great and has some cool features such as the backlit front panel. You can also plug in a channel selector switch from a Marshall amp (and others), which saves having to buy a new switch. Great reverb (on both channels). This is a really great amp. For £600, you can't go wrong!

I bought one of these from captain Lee after watching the youtube vid. Having not had particularly brilliant experiences with Line 6 gear in the past (just sterile tones) I thought I'd give it a try in store as I had nothing to lose really except a bit of petrol and some time to see if it lived up to the videos.
Over the years, I have literally owned absolutely everything from Bogners (literally all of them), Divided by 13, Cornford, Marshall, Diezel, Mesa etc etc but whilst I still play in bands, I have a really bad back so can't lug round anything big these days so recently I've been trying to get my rig constantly smaller and lighter so this seemed ideal. I also purchased the matching 1x12 cab and a midi mobilizer 2 so I could access all of the new 20 HD amp models.
Well, for such a small amp I'm seriously impressed, the tones are absolutely great and with the 2.0 firmware update and midi mobilizer II there's a crazy amount of flexibility with the 20 amp models, 10 odd different reverbs, a tone of cabs plus micing options.
Whilst I'm still discovering and tweaking, there's some really, really outstanding tones in here. Some of the models are so so but then that could all be down to taste. My personal favourites are the Fender Bassman and Blackface on the clean and the Mesa dual rec and Engl fireball on the drive side. Ironically, I've never owned any of these amps so I couldn't say if they are very close to the originals, however, they are all great sounding tones in their own right so I'd be in no rush to go out and side by side them either.
On that basis plus the flexibility, I'd definitely say it's more then worth the price you pay for these and who knows, I may even try a HD 500 at some point having now heard this!
If I was to be picky on this, what I would say one that this is annoying is the volume disparity between the models when using the midi mobilizer to switch between modes 1 to 4 on the individual channels. Some of the models are exceptionally quiet and some are exceptionally loud, however, it's a two channel amp so you can obviously balance them out but might need to be considered if you are planning on using midi to switch modes on each channel.
As always, excellent in store service and as the only cab in store was a bit battered and there was no other stock, Lee arranged for a new one to be posted to me the following week free of charge.

The DT25 is an excellent all round amp whether it's used on its own or with any of the PODHD series effects processors. Don't be fooled into thinking that because it's only 25 watts it's not going to cut it for gigging, it kicks! At a recent gig I did I only had the master volume on about #4 and this was with a loud four piece rock band. It's tonal range is vast and will cope with any style of music that you choose play. Don't just take my word for it though, go check one out for yourself, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This amp is excellent, have it running through my Marshall 4x12. Sounds huge and clear. The range of tones is unlimited and can crank it without it getting too loud! Its not too heavy to kart about and seems durable. All round great amp.

I was tempted to purchase DT25 head and cab after seeing Lee&Chappers review video. I gave it a go and I bought it! And I'm not disappointed at all!
Build quality is very good. Solid, good materials, looks like it will last. Sound of the amp is really great. I was hoping for good cleans, nice crunch and something bit heavier as well. Apart from my delay pedal I'm not using anything else, as I'm happy with the tones that DT25 provides. It sound good at lower volumes as well, which was important for me. The louder it gets the better it sounds - awesome job Line6.
Thanks to Andertons - very good customer service, quick delivery - as always.

I purchased DT25 head from Andertons a month ago. I'm still checking out various settings but already found a few that suits my needs. Beautiful cleans, even at lower volumes. Amp is solid built, looks classic, tone is great. I don't have that much experience with valve amps, but I've heard a few and DT25 can easily compete with them. Great amp due it's versitality and powerful tone - I play it through DT25 112 cab and I'm surprised how much low end it has got. I would definately recommend this amp.
Marc | Purchase date: 13 May 2012
A brilliant product, don't let the 25 WATTS fool you, this is louder than you think, being able to swith the power staged of the amp through A-A/B or pentode - triode is genius, want Brians AC30, DONE, want a bit of classic british crunch, DONE and the list goes on, have any of a number of amp styles at your disposal without having a 300m2 room to house them all in. This is not modelling, this is changing pre amp and valve stages etc, works brialliantly.

I own a Marshall 9200 JMP1, I had a JCM800 and JCM900 in teh past. I played trough lots of Fenders. I have owned a Carvin Legacy and a Orange Tiny Terror. I've been trough lots of amplifiers in stage, home, studio or just trying in stores. All i can say is: this thing Rocks ! ! !
It's amazing. Silent. Lots, really lots of dynamic response. Cristal tones. Controls that are real, they work. Huge distortion. Bogner touch ! ! ! The best sound ever I heard in lower volumes. It's not a simulation, it's a real thing. 16 amplifiers in one (4 amps, 2 class, 2 tube configuration). Beautiful tones, beautiful look. Rudged construction. Easy, easy, easy to use.
Just this head and a footswitch you have a dream setup, put together with HD500 it's really a dream rig, I agree.
Chris | Purchase date: 12 April 2012
This amp is absolutely ideal it sounds great when you wind it up. And equally as great when you don't. It's easy to get I nice sound without having place your controls with pin point accuracy. It's loud enough to gig with and wieghs about the same as the cab, so it's comfortable to carry with one in each hand.
I've played a lot with amp modeled effects and there has alway been a feel that is not quite right. But this is the real deal and keeps you wanting to pick up you guitar over and over.
Martin | Purchase date: 18 March 2012
What a great amp head. In conjunction with my DT25 112 cab and my POD HD 400 the kit gives me all the options and flexibility I need. The effects and modelling is so good/realistic you will not believe your ears. Would recommend this kit to anyone whether you gig or play at home.
