Blackstar HT-1RH 1 Watt Head with Reverb

For those of us who loved the HT5, but really need to keep the watts down, the Blackstar HT1RH Guitar amp head is bound to be a hit! It packs in 1W of all tube punch into a tiny portable combo which just oozes tone! You can crank the little beggar at home and enjoy the sort of tones you'd expect from a searing Blackstar amp, but at a volume that will barely leave your bedroom.

When you do need to take the HT-1R to a gig, just plug a cab into the provided speaker output to move more air and get a massive sound. Mic it up, and you could play a stadium with this amp! Add on digital stereo reverb and you have a killer, practical amp at a price you won't believe.

N.B. Cabinet shown is for illustration purposes only and is not included in the price.

Here's what Blackstar say about the HT1 Combo

The HT-1 is the perfect studio and practice amp, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT-5 valve amp into a 1 Watt format.

The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes you from the USA to the UK and anywhere in between. So now you can effectively design your own tone and finally find 'the sound in your head'. In making the HT-1 ideally suited to home and studio use, the aim was to develop a valve amp which sounded full and toneful even at the lowest volume level.

With this in mind the Blackstar design team designed a brand new valve power amplifier topology. The HT-1 power amplifier is a low powered push-pull design which produces the crunch and break-up characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage but at a much lower volume. This is achieved by the use of an ECC82 dual triode in push-pull configuration producing 1 Watt output, which is rich in valve harmonics and compression.

The HT-1 also has a fully specified speaker emulated output which further enhances the studio credentials and allows any guitarist to get amazing valve tone straight to tape or disk, or through headphones. Add to this an MP3 / Line Input, along with an 8Ω speaker output which allows you to run the amp into an external speaker cabinet of your choice, and you have everything you need for recording or practicing.

Small and mighty.Yes,1 watt is loud enough. 1/4 volume is perfect to play at home/drive channel/. Versatility amp,so you can play jazz, blues, metal, rock

whatever you want.Drive channel is similar to ht-dist pedal. The clean channel is better then all youtube reviews.Emulated output is very good for home recording.Only one thing i can say against this - cant use without speaker/but no problem/.So go and buy one.

This is truely an amazingly little amp. The sound is warm and typically "tubish", just what I was looking for. But even though the power rating is only one watt is is loud. I am running it into a Celestion V30, a relatively easily driven speaker, and there is no way I can play on full volume (especially distorted) at home. My neighbors would then force me out of my apartment. To inprove things a bit I have installed some resistors around the speaker (still keeping at 8 ohms) to silent it a bit. Now it sound perfect. Using headset is even one step better. The amp really shines through these. Now I can also enjoy the superb stereo reverb.

I have a VOX modelling amp before. Now this sound totally boring. The clean settings are not too bad but it is impossible for it to compete with the Blackstar on the distorted.

This is all you need for a compact real tube tone practice amp. Sold at a fair price and it looks cool too. No problem drving a 2x12 cab. To compare, I have a sweet Mesa Express 5:25 but it can be too loud at home even in 5 watt mode if you want tube distortion for practice. My Marshall MG 15 is also good at low volume and has more FX but it lacks the tube feel. I had a Blackstar DIST stomp in front of it but now will sell that.

This baby really rocks !! Everything from full hard rock to classic 'bell like' tones. I bought this for studio use as I wanted valve amp tone. It's connected straight into my studio mixer via the emulated DI output and works fantastic. Never used it through a speaker so can't say what its like, but through the studio setup its great. As no speaker is connected I have connected the speaker socket to a marshall powerbrake on full to act as a speaker soak for load protection. The great thing about this little amp is the ability to whack up the volume and gain to saturation as a valve amp is meant to be !! The only downside is the lack of being able to switch between the clean and overdrive channels with a switch - this has to be done by hand the amp itself, but this is not a probelm in the studio. If you need this switching system go for the 5 watt model. This is really a fantastic little amp with both those glorious Marshal sounds and the americane 6L6 tones just by tweaking that unique tone control. Go on - have one !!
