We have just done a big deal with Cornford and managed to secure these amps at great prices, we won't be able to repeat these prices again so best grab them while you can.

Cornford MK50 MKII Valve Guitar Head

Cornford amps are designed & hand built in the UK, using the finest quality techniques for cabinet building & amp making. Andertons have been long time fans of Cornford amps - it's hard to describe exactly what it is that puts such a big smile on our faces whenever we play through one of these amps - we call it "Cornford Mojo".

Because Cornford Amps are designed & built in the UK (they get made, drive about 60 miles to Guildford & then you buy it!) they are incredibly good value when compared to similarly built amps from America. Typically on US hand built amps, there will be  shipping, duty & a UK distribution margin added to the price - this will generaly add about 50% onto the selling price. So a Cornford amp that sells for about £1000 will be equivalent in terms of build quality to a US made amp costing around £1500!

Please also have a look in our user reviews section to hear from genuine customers who have bought Cornford amps. Without exception the reviews are incredibly positive.

Here's what Cornford say about the MK50H mk2

MK50H II OVERVIEW:
Amplifier type: Head
Wattage: 50 Watts
Features: 2 x FX loops

MK50H II - Story
Following on from the success of the original MK50H, Cornford have created the MK50H II. Completely redesigned, it incorporates the great Overdrive Channel found in the original, with the addition of a seperate Clean Channel, dual switchable and assignable FX loops and bias switchable for 6L6 power valves (supplied as standard) or EL34.

"The Mark II version of Cornford's flagship is by far and away the best two-channel amp ever to come out of this country" - Guitarist Magazine

THE MK50H II's FOOTSWITCH
The addition of the seperate clean channel on this amp takes it into the realms of best channel switcher in the world.

If two channels doesn't sound that many, consider the available options...

1) Clean Channel with Master 1
2) Overdrive Channel with Master 1
3) Clean Channel with Master 2
4) Overdrive Channel with Master 2
5) Overdrive Channel with Overdrive switched on through Master 1
6) Overdrive Channel with Overdrive switched on through Master 2

Then add in the two FX loops possibly with eqs/boosts in there... I'm losing count already!

Guitarista Spain gave the MK50H II its 5 Star Award.

Guitarist Magazine gave the MK50H II a 5 out of 5 review & awarded the "Guitarists Gold " award.

This amp is Cornford's most complex offering to date, allowing the user ultimate tonal and operational versatility.

During many years of playing guitar I've used several famous amp brands. But the Cornford MK50 MKII is in a class of it's own I think. Pure delight when it comes to sound and flexibility.

This is the best amp I've ever heard, it's solid, versatile and absolutely destroyed the blackstar and marshalls we compared it with. Is it the best amp in the world? Most probably.

saw these amps at a music show and really wanted one ..2005 i think! ..guthrie was playing one and i thought it sounded great but wasn't sure if you could get rid of the slightly 'parpy' sound that he had, if you wanted to. .. saw ritchie kotzen at another show, and thought 'yep, you can!' ..a totally different tone both tones were fantastic , but was concerned about the single channel aspect, and the price (was the mk 1 head at the time, and was over 2 grand if my memory serves me correctly) .. bought a 5150 , which was really great, but lamented over the clean channel, very harsh yes ..and clean , NOT!! recently saved up since mk50 2 has come out , with 2 channels.. would've liked a lesley spring reverb in it personally,..but, after playing it in the studio all last week, am amazed at the different combinations of sounds available! .. i didn't even miss the reverb! the clean really is gorgeous. superb build quality too..i regularly entertain (through worldclassmusic.co.uk) top musicians from all over the world, so i'm eager to get their comments, i've been a guitar teacher/technician for 25 years and am 100 percent pleased with this purchase, which andertons did at an unbelieveable sale price of £1500!! .. no circuit boards or cost cutting , handwired in uk .. pure tone! if you buy one you will not be disappointed ;-) ian

This amps a keeper for life! Oodles of tone - tight, sparkly clean channel, and the best overdrive channel going. Loads of sustain and warmth, tons of gain available and cleans up nicely too when needed. Cornford just seem to be able to get the EQ balance to just the right frequency range, and the mid control is superb. 6L6 and EL34 valve options means you can tweak to your preferred output valve tone. FX loop auto assignment via the footswitch is also very handy to help avoid doing a tap-dance with your pedals when playing live. Yes these amps are not cheap, but compared to alot of boutique ones they are exceptional value. Built like tanks and as there's no PCBs there is very little that can go wrong, and when it does they can be repaired very easily by a good amp tech.

The fact that you have got this far means you know what these amps are all about. Flagship of the Cornford range; hand built, point to point wiring and made in England. Beautiful construction and design, gorgeous tone and ultimate flexibility. This is my 4th Cornford (and I haven't sold any either) and my favourite one of 12 amps I own. Well worth the wait. An amp for life.
