The Steinberg MR816CSX Advanced Integration FireWire audio interface offers functions far beyond the envelope of traditional audio devices.

The MR816CSX fuses a fully-featured FireWire interface and inbuilt DSP FX power with next-generation integrative technologies into one breathtakingly powerful production environment.

This Advanced Integration DSP Studio is the hardware centerpiece in a latency-free recording and monitoring environment that fully exploits the flexibility and power of Steinberg's renowned Cubase Music Production System.

Designed by Steinberg and Yamaha the MR816CSX features unprecedented integration with Cubase and offers a full range of audio I/O options, onboard DSP, and renowned REV-X reverb.

It houses 8 discrete Class A analog 'D-Pre' mic preamps with combination XLR and TRS analog inputs with advanced inverted Darlington circuits and switchable phantom power per channel, as well as digital ADAT and S/PDIF I/O.

The MR816CSX also offers the Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip plug-in, with both DSP effects available as a VST3 plug-in in Cubase. The MR816CSX will support Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

WOW!! what an amazing bit of kit this is.
I tried every type of audio interface under the sun, u name it, i tried it, (much to Brad at Andertons dismay might i add).
I still couldnt get the results i wanted.
I read loads of amazing reviews about this unit and now i understand why.
It really is one of the best audio interfaces u can buy under a £1000 in my honest opinion.
Conversion is the best ive heard from an audio interface in this price range, preamps are better than most outboard pre under £500 with great headroom, the effects are amazing, reverb is astounding, the onboard sweetspot compressor allows you to increase ur monitor level when recording vocals and grab those peaks when u want to give it some welly, and it doesnt effect ur recording signal, great if you've got a really heavy metal vocalist, u can even record the effects direct if u want.
The dual headphone outputs run my gain hungry 250 ohm DT770's brilliantly.
But the best thing about this interface is the blue led's that light up on the front :), looks great, feels great.
I Couldn't want anymore from an audio interface.
