This kit comes with a Yamaha kick drum pedal. A great electronic kit for beginners and pros alike!

Up until now, budding drummers who wanted to get into drumming faced the barriers of cost, and noise! The Yamaha DTX500 electronic drum kit means there are no more excuses not to pick up the sticks and play today! The DTX500 is an extremely high-quality beginner / intermediate electric kit that will last a keen drummer well into his/her intermediate years - and beyond! What's more, it costs about the same as an acoustic kit of similar standard, and all the drums, cymbals and hardware you need are included so there are no difficult decisions and no extra budget required when it comes to cymbals, for example.

The DTX500 has the stamp of Yamaha upon it, so you know you are getting a quality musical instrument from a manufacturer who has years of experience catering for beginners and pros alike. Whilst there are cheaper electronic drum kits available, the DTX500 is a solid choice if you want an instrument that is still going to provide a great playing experience for years to come. Even as a drummer progresses, the DTX500 will continually offer great response, a plethora of features to guide your practice and jamming sessions, and a ruggedness that means the DTX500 will not feel flimsy under the hits of even the hardest-hitting drummers.

The DTX 500 does not come with a stool, sticks or headphones. If you already have a drum kit, then chances are you'll have all these items anyway, but if you're starting from scratch you'll need to buy these extra bits in order to get going. Any stool, kick drum pedal, headphones & sticks will work with the DTX500, but here are some links to some of the basic options you might need.

Here's what Yamaha say about the DTX500K

The Yamaha DTX500K is the most cost effective kit on the market today with a diversity of great sounds, a realistic playing surface and quick triggering, together with fun learning tools and many play along features. Featuring sounds sampled from real Yamaha Drum kits the DTX500K is designed to be the ultimate plug in and play drum kit which can be used by everyone, everywhere. The DTX500K features built in practice tools to help you improve your playing and you can also play along to your favorite CDs or MP3 too, using the simple Auxiliary input. The pads and module are mounted on to a sturdy rack which can be folded away for easy storage and is completed with a Yamaha bass drum pedal which is included.

I have been a musician for about 30 years but I am a novice when it comes to playing drums. However know how they should sound. These sound great. They are made to a very high standard. The also have midi so I can use my drum samples on my PC. My poor guitar is having a well deserved rest while I am having some great fun playing these drums. This was money well spent.

This is a great kit for a learner. Very easy to set up...took me longer to unpack than put together! Good build quality and definitely worth the extra few pounds over and above the more entry point electronic kits.

Yamaha have a great free iPad app to help you get started with the basics - I was playing along to stuff after just a couple of hours. I really recommend this.

The service from Andertons was fantastic as always.

I bought the DTX500 kit for my son who is having lessons at a local music school, and he loves it. The kit is well built and more than capable of surviving the onslaught of the boy hammering away to AC/DC, Motorhead, et al. The drum module has a good range of kits, backing tracks etc. The boy also loves that he can plug in his iPod to play along to backing tracks. The fact that he can plug in with headphones is much appreciated by the neighbours :) ... (he had an acoustic kit previously). Yamaha have always made good quality music gear as far back as I can remember, and the DTX500 is no exception, it is a great entry level kit.

This drum kit is superb, it was for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It has a lot of kits on it and the ability to record his playing. He has also been able to plug in his ipod and play along to his favourite songs. I would definately reccomend it.

I purchased a Yamaha mox6 from Andertons earlier this year that came with cubase for my pc. Having so much fun with my keyboard I decided to go for some electric drums. A complete novice at 'Drummin..' Jame's at the store advised this kit so I can't give you any comparisons. I have already broken one chair (need a stool) I cant stay away! The drum pads are a good size and the computery thing is easy to use. There are so many preset kits all of which you can change the sound of each drum. My mp3 plugs in so I can drum to my fave AC/DC tracks. There are basic melodies to drum to and audio out to plug into my mox6. I'm sure that all you experts out there don't think that this is so special but this is the first time that I've been able to realy create something. The only thing is the drums are so much fun cubase doesn't get a look in. Thanks Yamaha. Thanks Andertons. See you soon!
