Yamaha DTX950 Electronic Drum Kit
As this kit has the heavy duty HEX Rack, it can be used in conjunction with acoustic drums. This could provide some interesting options as the use of electronic sounds is more common in todays music.
With Yamaha having some of the best sounding high end acoustic kits, they have sampled them to provide the user access to these kits without having to purchase one of each.
The sampling function (usable with the optional DIMM) allows the user to add any individual sound or sequence to the unit. These sound/sequences can be edited on the module and assigned to any pad.
These things and more make this a very interesting kit and with the new feel pads, it should be as good to play as an acoustic.
The DTX950does not come with a stool, sticks or headphones. If you already have a drum kit, then chances are you'll have all these items anyway, but if you're starting from scratch you'll need to buy these extra bits in order to get going. Any stool, kick drum pedal, headphones & sticks will work with the DTX950, but here are some links to some of the basic options you might need.
