The Taylor 210E dreadnought electro acoustic's solid glossy Sitka spruce top delivers the lively, defined sound Taylor is known for while the Indian Rosewood laminate body gives this acoustic-electric dreadnought powerful projection and depth. The ebony fingerboard adds brightness and snap for a clear and defined tone. A very fine guitar at a more economic price point, the Taylor 210E is a delicious sounding instrument either acoustically or when amplified, and is accompanied by a Taylor hard bag.

Here's what Taylor say about the 210E Dreadnought Electro / Acoustic Guitar

Meet the all-new 100 and 200 Series: Premium guitars that will change your expectations about what a serious entry-level instrument can embody. Featuring solid Sitka spruce tops and either laminated sapele or Indian rosewood back and sides, both series deliver the quality sound and feel you'd expect from a Taylor. Now available with Taylor's new Under-Saddle Transducer pickup, we're raising the bar on our 'basic' guitars. With a glossy solid spruce top and Indian rosewood laminate back and sides, the affordably priced 210 is an impressive introduction to the Taylor playing experience. The ES Blue electronics, derived from the Taylor Expression System, have a proprietary Dynamic String Sensor and an active preamp. The result is a high-fidelity, high level, low-impedance signal for clear, acoustic amplified tone. This means the Taylor 210E is able to drive a wide variety of devices including acoustic guitar amplifiers and PA mixers without using a DI box. Mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, and a 25-1/2" scale. A durable varnish finish offers protection, good looks, and a smooth feel. A traditional shape refined, Taylor's dreadnought combines classic volume and bass response with the definitive Taylor sound: clear trebles and an open, airy midrange. Dreadnoughts respond especially well to flatpicking or light-to-heavy strumming.

Complete with Taylor Hard Bag - blends the protective properties of a hard case with the lightweight portability of a gig bag. Designed to fit both the Grand Auditorium and Dreadnought, it features a tan, 600-denier exterior and a 70-denier interior that's reinforced at the peghead and tail end. Supportive structure includes rigid PVC sidewalls, full-length Correx/EPE foam hard top and back, and an EPE foam neck rest with a hidden internal pocket.

This is my first Taylor and it certainly doesn't disappoint - mellow tone, great for picking and strumming the folk music I really like to play. I must admit I've yet to plug it in to an amp at home and play around with the sound controls (which I know are going to be straight-forward to master as there are only 3) but I did have a play plugged in at the store before bringing it home. And, just like the blurb about the guitar says, it loses none of its mellowness when you plug it in. Really good reproduction of the acoustic sound. I love the dreadnought shape which I'm sure also provides the right sort of sound box for the mellowness of tone I was looking for. Great price too for such a quality instrument. So obviously superior to my Ovation when you compare the two. I love being the new proud owner of one!
